Compliment
GCattermole (12-05-2008)
An interesting 127 room hotel nicely positioned in the middle of Oslo. The hotel has been around since 1913, but the rooms are modern, reasonably well equipped with cable TV and a good shower.
The room rate included breakfast which is held on the ground floor in the attached café. Breakfast tended to be very busy, bordering on chaotic, but there is a good range of hot and especially cold food available.
After breakfast the café serves both International and traditional Norwegian food for lunch and dinner. The hotel advertises a week day “complementary light supper”, usually homemade soup with fresh bread and butter, but I was never around at the required time.
The hotel shop stocks a range of Norwegian arts, crafts, clothing and jewellery.
Good, and would have been even better if breakfast hadn’t been so chaotic!
