I went there with my friend recently . I live locally and I have been to all the restaurants in Newington Green that Thursday we decided to try something different . 56 Restaurant has a French-European cousine . So I had duck egg with wild mushrooms as a starter and for a main I had a Seabream with mulles from the Specials on that day everything was delicious . My friend had Chicory salad and Risotto with beetroot and pumpkin . Risotto was amazing . We shared a dessert Apple tartatin it was really nice.
DEFINETELY WE ARE GOING BACK AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a lovely spot. Staff are incredibly friendly. Food is super tasty with big portions and nice variety. Wine is also lovely and cheap.

I recently went to this place for my birthday and was not disappointed. The food was great which is modern european in style. The service was ok but dipped once they got busy. Make sure you book as they become very busy very quicky.

Overall a great experience.
