i ordered a dressing table stool from this company - what a mistake! when it arrived it was damaged so they arranged a courier to collect and offered me a refund. This was over 4 weeks ago and I am still waiting for the refund. I have called a couple of times to chase the refund and every time the story changes. I was told it would be processed today but guess what it hasn't! so four weeks later no refund or answers. 

I would NEVER order from this company again, so unprofessional with no idea how to run a business. 

AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Outstanding customer service - What a refreshing company to deal with!  I had purchased a chandelier (amongst other items) several months ago and was very upset when one of the smoked glass droplets was accidentally broken by a guest (long story - they did something very silly and they won't be invited back!!!). 

That evening, I emailed Black Orchid and explained the situation - the result?!? Within a day the Sales Manager, James, rang me back and said he would get in touch with the supplier and within the week he contacted me again to explain that he has the replacement glass droplet and was ready to send it out.  I didn't have to chase once, James was very professional - particulary considering that it was our fault it was broken and had nothing to do with Black Orchid. 

I am so impressed and grateful to James and the team at Black Orchid I would recommend them to anyone.  I have bought a few things now from Black Orchid Interiors and have been delighted with the quality and the service I received.  I will definitely be a returning customer.

Although I have no experience purchasing from this company, my mum has just bought a new dining set and it is gorgeous! When we move out of our pokey little flat I will be doing some serious shopping with these guys!

I had a really good experience with Black Orchid Interiors, and I thought that they were a really personable, helpful company.

My mother ordered some items from their website to jazz up her hallway and living room. She lives almost an hour away from me so I can't always help her as much as I would like to, what with work commitments, but she is a bit of a technophobe and can barely operate her computer, let alone order products from the Internet! Anyway, one of the items she ordered from their website was incorrect. This was an error on her behalf, and I said I would get in touch with the company and try and sort it out for her.

When I explained the situation over the phone, they couldn't have been more understanding. They very dispatched the replacement product that my mum meant to order, and refunded the difference right away. I hadn't heard of the company before so I knew nothing of them, but they explained that they had a store within House of Fraser in Manchester, which is only an hour or so away from my mum, where she could purchase products in person and look at the range. I always like it when businesses suggest alternative to suit they type of customer they have. Obviously not everyone is clued up on the Internet so it's great that they have a physical shop for the likes of my mother!

I just googled Black Orchid Interiors in order to find their website, and was pretty surprised to read some of the feedback they have been getting. I know not companies don't get it right every time, but some of the reviews seemed a bit extreme, from my point of view anyway, seen as we were really happy with the products. My wife and I purchased a lamp from the Manchester store fairly recently, and it's fine. My wife is the interior designer of the two of us, so she rates the design etc., but for me, it does what it should do and it looks nice, so i'm happy. She's got her eye on a dining table set and based on my experience, I wouldn't see any reason not to purchase from them again.

We first purchased 3 items from the Black Orchid Interiors concession in Kendal's Manchester, the customer service was second to none, I can also confirm that the quality of the items is fantastic and they look fabulous in our home, we have subsequently purchased 2 items from the Avion Steel range which I collected from there head office, again the customer service was great, especially Jade at the Kendal's concession. I have to say that I have spoken to many people at Black Orchid throughout the ordering process and they have always been very helpful and always call you back when they say they will. I would recommend them to anyone and will certainly buy from them again.

I am very surprised at the reviews online here as I have had nothing but a good experience with Black Orchid Interiors. I recently ordered 5 items with them over the phone/email. The customer service that I have received, particularly from James, has been excellent and he has been in touch with me throughout my decision making and ordering process. James was very patient with me as I took a long time to make up my mind what I wanted, but throughout never pushed me to hurry up and sell me the items. Once the items arrived (the delivery guys were very nice too), James called me several times to make sure I was happy with the products. There was one minor fault with one of the items, so he arranged to have it exchanged immediately no hassles. I know that this can happen as I have had alot of experience buying furniture for my whole house recently and there are sometimes minor issues which can occur in transit, but it is the way the company deals with it that is important and I can't fault Black Orchid Interiors on this.

With regards to the quality of the items, I am very happy with them for what I paid. I did not even see them in a showroom before I ordered them, but I checked they have a reasonable returns policy, which they do. I am in the interior design field and have a reasonable idea of what you can get where and recently I have been sourcing items for my own home and have not found anything as unusual but contemporary at affordable prices elsewhere so I can not fault them on this. You cannot buy such unusual, quirky, stylish pieces like this from Ikea - the two do not compare in my opinion, so therefore the prices are also not comparable. Yes they are more expensive than Ikea prices, but when you compare to other similar interior companies, they are averagely priced, hence my "average" price rating.

So far, all my guests who have seen the items I have bought have all loved the pieces, as do I, so I will definitely be buying from them again and will and have recommended them.

After reading some of these reviews i was very unsure about ordering from black orchid . I found the perfect tabe for my lounge and thought i'd throw caution to the wind. I was really impressed with the quality of the product and the service, to be honest i was expecting a lot of hassle after reading these reviews. They couldn't have been more helpful, i will definitely be ordering from them again.

I ordered a full set of the avion steel furniture for my master bedroom in march, despite reading mixed reviews. I ordered the goods on their website, and recieved a an email the next day notifying me that the goods were in stock.

I wanted this furniture as I had noticed it in House Of Fraser, and couldn't find anything else like it elsewhere. When I recieved delivery - about 2 weeks later, I was delighted. I payed an extra £30 to have the chest of drawers and two matching side tables carried up to the room and boxes taken away.

The steel furniture looks fantastic, the items do have minor scratches, but I can live with it, as they are truly unique and really make the room look expensive and luxurious. All in all the service was great, and prompt. No problems at all. I will be ordering again

I also agree that this company does not have a clue on how to run a business.  I ordered my goods back in February 2012.  Late March I received a random item that I had not ordered.  I was told it would be 2 months until my items would be in stock even though the reason I ordered it was because I was told they were in stock.  2 months later another 2 random items arrived.
It is now late May the random items has been returned.  Sill No refund.  
Avoid at all costs.  I know the pictures on the website look pretty but if your experience is like mine you will live to regret it.

    I laugh at your attitude to my complaint. If you think that my refund was received in a timely manor I WARN anyone from using your store.
    CAN I JUST REMIND PEOPLE THAT IT TOOK ME FOUR MONTHS TO RECEIVE A REFUND FOR GOODS ORDERED.
    If you think this is a timely refund please learn from reputable companies such as John Lewis as these people know how to appreciate customers and know how to treat them, UNLIKE BLACK ORCHID.

this is the worst experience of ordering from company I have ever experienced  - I found the concession at Manchester's House of Fraser, like the other reviewers I was thrilled to find a company that do so many things that I wanted to order, I innitially placed an order for a metal set of drawers, matching mirror for about 2K plus a lamp and some other bits and bobs for about 350, I wont go into the full horror of the service here as I dont want to relive it other than to say the quality is appaling, we ended up cancelling half the order and only kept the drawers because we couldnt cope with the idea of having to have them come back to pick them up again - the metal is scratched in various places and i mean really badly scraped not slight, there are dints and dings all over the place which you only really notice fully once u've had a good look at it in situ  - the actual drawers dont even fit properly - they sit out at different positions - the plug on the brand new lamp was actually broken - again i could add actually more but I think the other reviews speak volumes - I will say that they did try and offer me my full money back very quickly and would have taken all the items back but as this was the second delivery (yes the first lot they sent was also damaged and i trusted them when they said they'd send a perfect one the next time - which was actually worse than the first) but that wasnt the point when you keep getting sent poor quality items and being told that 'they are the best ones they have' - the phone staff were really polite and helpful and took the situation seriously and the concession staff were really really helpful too and tried to fix it but they are all at the mercy of their stock which is, in my opinion, WELL below ithe n store or online standard - I have ordered many many things from many companys and this was the worst quality that I have ever seen - I would NEVER order from them again.

Recently purchased some products on line, was a little nervy due to the reviews I have read on here, however my items where delivered within 7 days and look better than on the site.

The customer Service team organised my delivery within 24 hours of placing the order all in all a happy experience, will be ordering from here again.

Don’t bother wasting your time or money with Black Orchid Interiors. I was initially delighted when I found this company – the furniture was exactly what I wanted for my house and very different from on the high street, and I felt that the quality would be good as the prices were quite high.

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed when the furniture arrived – the desk was different dimensions from those listed on the website, the metal desk had rivets missing, rivets of different colours (from different batches), the workmen had scored the metal with a stanley knife to line up the rivetting, ruining the sleek look and the metal was dented. The drawers on the side-tables looked as though they had been found in a scrap yard. We also ordered a dressing table which couldn’t be opened as there was neither a lip nor a tag on the lid, the stool was so heavy it was impractical and the leather felt very cheap and the runners on the set of drawers broke on first testing.

Needless to say, we sent everything back, but then had to repeatedly chase up the company for the refund – I was told “the accounts department have gone home”, “I’ll call you back” (which didn’t happen), “the phones aren’t working” (though I got through first time), “the computer system has gone down” etc.

So, although the products look great online – the quality is poor and the customer service, when you want your money back, worse.

Ordered in mid November from this store as I was told my two bedside cabinets were in stock.
3 weeks later according to the website the items were still in stock and now in a 20% off sale – I still had yet to receive them.
I phoned them to ask where they were, and then discovered that they were not in fact in stock after all.
Instead they kept trying to push a different product on to me, which I refused to have (completely different bedside cabinet). They told me the one I wanted wouldn’t be in stock for at least 2-3 months, but couldn’t guarantee when.
I asked them for a refund, and to change the status of the bedside cabinet to out of stock.
1 month later and neither of these things have happened. I’m still chasing for a refund (they said it would take 28 days – why that long they couldn’t explain – it’s passed that now anyway).

    As an update – I finally got my money back 85 days after placing the order I never received. Despite many many calls and several emails and an unprecedented number of excuses the company never paid me back. I only got a refund as I did get an email from the company confirming my refund request – I used this email to claim money back from my credit card company who obliged and refunded. Be warned from using this place

    Thank you for responding 9 months after the order. Thankfully, I’m not still waiting, I chose a rival company to deliver an identical product (which actually was cheaper). That arrived within a couple of days. I also was refunded by the credit card company, so no longer need your services.

This shop has the worst service i have ever recieved! Placed my order in July only to be told it would take 7-10 days to received my bench. Little did i know it would take 4 months and a lot of hassle!

Every time i chased them up to get a lead time i was told it was “coming next week” and then when it finally arrived in November it was all scratched and chipped. A very frustrating experience and i will defintely not be buying anything from here again.
