5 stars all the way. The best sandwich shop I’ve ever visited.
With a team of around 12,000 frantically, albeit in total control, creating the sandwich of your choice you can’t help but smile in this shop. Everything hits the nail squarely on the head whether it’s the decor (and expensive looking it is….is that Italian marble they’re all carving and cutting on?), the lighting, the very friendly and attentive staff and of course the food itself, you cannot go wrong here. The moment they parcel up your food in the bag you know you’re in for a treat. I’d fight the urge to rip said sandwiches from it’s moorings and envelope them with my uncontrollable mouth bits whilst walking to Albert Square so I could enjoy it in a perfect surroundings.
I have to come here around Christmas time (despite the German markets) and choose the Turkey, Bacon and Stuffing - literally a Christmas dinner in a ciabatta cushion. You’re normally greeted with a glass of mulled wine or port on entry this time of year just to exceed expectations.

Choose from a huge menu board of ask them to make one up for you…of course they will, with the genuinely freshest ingredients this side of a field (Subway/McChicken sandwiches this ain’t).

Oh and I cannot recommend the Pastrami & Stilton with Chilli Mayo enough…one of those things that when I talk or write about it it’s as if it is right there in front of me causing a ‘Ferris Bueller scene’ drooling act from your chops.

Manchester now has five of these so in a way it’s a chain (there are a small handful more around parts of the uk), but it’s an independent chain run from the heart not the dark soul of a bean counter…

5! I only know of 3… I stand corrected. If I could afford it, I’d buy my lunch here every day. For now, it remains a special treat. I think Paulo’s review does it justice. Excellent
