While many (Thais and foreigners) deem this to this to be the “poor relation” of the BTS Skytrain, and so is often less crowded, it is still an amazingly efficient way to traverse the city. It cannot offer the same experience as it’s underground (think The Tube in London or Metro in Paris) but relays good standards of safety (guards st the entrance quickly search bags, which doesn’t occur on the BTS) and a cool atmosphere. Slightly cheaper and offering differing locations to the BTS it’s another boon to a great city. Again, “Line Extensions” are in the pipeline (pun intended) and awaited eagerly to allow even more exploration of this fantastic city. Other modes of transport around BKK are not my choice any longer!

Brilliant underground system, fast and efficient, if only let down by the fact that it stops so far short of the river, that as a tourist, you feel a bit disappointed.
Overall though, beats anything in Europe.
