You should take him to trading standards, I did, and if the car is on finance then it belongs to the finance company,you should report him for fraud….he is nothing but a low down slimey snake.

bought a car from this company in good faith in 2009, I went there with my girlfriend and 2 very young kids, the couple were very welcoming and lovely to the kids, i eventually bought a big volkswagen passat, the car gave me quite a few problems right from the off, when I eventually got them to deliver it, I would have perhaps forgiven these issues, despite having to be in repeated conversations with them to get things fixed, and having to put the car into an independent garage to get things looked at. Then the worst and most unbelievable thing of all, they had arranged a very cheap insurance deal for me, about three months down the line I was talking to the insurance company and I discovered that DES had declared my date of birth to make me an old age pensioner, therefore reducing the premium dramatically, when I changed this to the correct one, it was going to cost me an extra couple of hundred pounds. I had to argue for a long time with the insurance company, DES and the finance company, as DES was trying to pass the buck onto them for the lies that were told, until I managed to receive documentary evidence that DES of Top class car sales was responsible. If I had read these other stories at the time I would have contacted trading standards, or perhaps the police as this was a clear case of fraud. As I wouldn't have taken the car had I known what the true monthly cost was going to be. Definitely avoid this company.........

top class cars rip you off , i paid £4000 for a 07 plate vectra and it blew up after 2 days ..they are not interested in the public just interested in taking your money ...the warranty is useless...Dez the owner will promisse everthing and give u nothing ...the vectra cost over £1000 to put right, you have been warned i have contacted trading standards oh i forgot ....check the car he tries to sell you against the mot ...u will find it should have not passed a mot ..tyres,emissions ,wiper blades , lights and so on ,,and remember when the timing belt snaps ,,,your in for big big trouble and a new engine, Tccs

zarawilks, 2 February 2013:i to have bought a vehicle from top class car sales and have had it for just over 2mnths and its been of the road for at least 6 weeks of that, it needs duel mass flywheel,clutch,heater fan,nearside suspension and other things in total the cost is around £2.500 and the car only cost me £3000 hopefully the finance company will deal with this as i have been promised by Des that he will pick the car up and supply me with another,but after 6 weeks of waiting nothing has happened,AFTER many excuses and bull he says hes coming and never turnes up ive had to walk to work 3 or 4 times and its 14miles to my work i just want a car that works please dont buy a car from these people you will only get ripped of.

0 stars !!!! for this company. Is a big joke . We got a car 2 months ago. Is is insignia plate 2009, just 3 years old car. We did pay £7000 for this car and we are not using this car already 1 months. From the first week we have to change pads breaks because they start making big noise just after week( to be clear garage change that for as as a warranty just we have to spend money for petrol to drive there again) week after that we have to go to vauxhall service to do check are car because again car start making fun noise. We pay for this service £47 We find out is we need a EGR cooler for a car and will cast including fit £789 in vauxhall garage. Because we have 3 months warranty from this garage, we phone to guy .first he said he will not fix that because is not up to the warranty , but after when we phone bank hi change his mind. At the moment he is making every week (aready 2 weeks) excuse for to as do not came to de garage. In the middle last week we find out is one more leaking oil. When we check we need a power steering pipe and cost £ 180 just this part ( my husband find this part on ebay from second hand just for £40 to avoid waiting again for one more part and spending money for travel to this garage) Today when we have aready appointment with this guy in the garage to fix the car he phone as just before 10 mins we rich the garage and said his worker phone sick and can’t fixt are car today . I’m so unhappy we just both this car and we can use at all. We need to spend £20 for every time If we have to go to this garage because we are staying in Livingston. After I did sad I’m not happy at all he hand up on me. I will newer recommend this garage to anyone, DO Not trust to this guy ever, he is liar!! On my whole life I do not ever find person like him to deal with people like that. Hope one day will back to him this bad staff!!!

Luckly POLICE get involved and the incident recorded when he almost killed us all with the car he gave us on our way to Edinburgh from Glasgow.
and when his recovery comes by, after waiting for hrs as he told us not to leave the car itself….the recovery itself didnt start:WE will definetly do every possible way to come over this nightmare!!!!!! Thanx for advise. Everything done:

yes he does seem very friendly and reassures that all will be well and gives you a good deal, but having bought a car from him believe me it causes nothing but heartache and money. I was 4 months pregnant when I bought my car from him thinking that no one would rip off a pregnant woman. well I got half way home when engine warning light came on, 15 miles!!!!!!!!! He promised it would be fixed lol!!! car has eventually cost me £1500 on top of what i paid and its that bad ive had to get rid of it due to the fact i was advised (by a trusted mechanic) to carry a fire extinguisher as it was that unsafe!

davash33, 15 December 2011:i have had 5 cars over the years from topclasscarsales there second to none always fixed any repairs that needed done des and helen arn no like the sharks you get from a big showroom as for most of theses queriry it looks like former emplyee with a grudge making up stories all i can say if you buy a car there not only do you get a great servis but also good friends they have always rectified all if any faults i had . and will always buy my cars there

dougjmaster, 18 December 2011:lucky you, you must be the only 1. with all the complaints they cant all be a former employee. and im sure trading standards would not be investigting them if this was the case!!! i can only coment on the so called car i bought and when an independant garage looked over it it was needing over £3000 to get it road worthy and when i phoned the lovely DES his reply was DID I WANT IT GOLD PLATED. this is not good customer service.

Firstly, a lot of these guys buy cars from the auctions and sell them on. Des however promises everything and produces nothing.
You will not see your paperwork. The warranty is virtually worthless. The MOT is not entirely valid as you can check the advisory comments on the internet (mine had none even though it had two very worn tyres).
You won’t see the service records and I even had to contact the DVLA for the V5.
Trust the internet and don’t even think of buying from here…

warranty, what warranty. your reply to me was i should expect thoses problems with a car of that age. the car was only 7 years old
Be advised report this robber to trading standards ,and his M O T friend next door….u will find the car you bought probably was not even looked at ,they use the chassis number and just type in in computer and hey presto u mot for a year a squib….this is usually done for a backhander no questions asked …you have been warned …
Why dont you all put him and her on Facebook ,I have done this…they are called TCCS now…..tell everyone on face book make it public ,put down their address as well …tell everyone what they do to people. I will haunt these two thieves until I die for ripping me off for 4000 for a wrecked vectra…..be warned….grass them up big style…use trading standards ,get his finance licence removed…..take your heap if u got one off him to the MOT inspectorate at bishopbrigs ,go to consumer direct…notify the police he is selling vehicles unfit for the road…

Trading standards consumer direct …if all else fails get a court order and get the sherifs to seaz his rust bucket stock until he pays…a court writ will cost you £60 well worth it ..and by the way he is still trading don’t believe what top of this page says…the cowboys are called TCCS and advertise in auto trader and other car mags ….you have been WARNED……NOW go get a court writ and sue the both of them…..!
His name is Donald Gartshore and not Dez ..Donald and Helen Gartshore…they had another name for the squib garage but went burst …D&H motors..
