Next event: Visite De L'horloge Astronomique De La Cathédrale De Strasbourg (Thursday, January 01, 2009)
loupnatic (15-10-2008) •••••
Who does not know this cathedrale, whose originality lies in the fact that it only has one single arrow? You have all seen it, at least in the shape of an Alsacian Logo… Intriguing monument planted right in the town centre. You really need to step back in order to be able to embrase its wigspan. If you go back through the Rue Merciere, towards the Place Gutenberg, you will be able to contemplate it a little better. To enjoy the visit fully, do not forget to climb up to the platform (322 steps or the lift!) from where you can see the whole town, the Foret-Noire and the Vosges in bright daylight - inside you can visit the astronomic clock, more spectacular if you come back at midday or during important days of the year (solstices, equinox). In the evening, there are great souns and light shows (ask for a programme). Around 10pm in the nearby streets, when the big bell plays the Angelus, you must visit it if you pass by the Alsacian capital!
