This place finally gave me a reason to dust off my paintball marker (it’s not a gun, it’s a marker) that I had so lovingly shipped over from the states.
The first thing that impressed me about Campaign was how easy it was to get to. From SW6 it was a 25 minute train ride to Effingham and then a 5 minute walk to the range. Easy.
The range itself is fantastically well laid out. They’ve split a large section of forest into about 8 different themed courses with the central area decked out with covered seating areas, a shop, info booths etc. Very professional.
The day is also very well structured and organized. People are put in teams and demarcated with colored tape. You play 8 games in a round-robin format and they’ve planned the day just right so you have enough time between games to rest up, have a drink, etc.
The staff, for the most part, were knowledgeable, enthusiastic and a lot of fun. One or two were a bit too….cool for school. But all in all, they did a great job of running the games.
One other thing to note is they split the kids and adults up so you don’t need to worry about little Timmy getting roughed up by a bunch of lads on their stag do.
Now I have to confess, I almost gave this place 3 stars based on one thing - the price. Sure it’s 13 quid for all day paintball including equipment rental and a burger but the paint is absolutely ridiculously priced. You’ll need to spend another 35 quid on paint to have a good day so expect to spend around 50 quid for a full day. You can’t bring your own paint either so there’s really no way around it. Given the number of people there, they must be making a killing.
Despite that, I’ll be going back. It’s conveniently located, well run and a lot of fun.

A really great place to go paintballing and only 30 mins by train from central London. I just got back from Campaign with my brothers where we had an awesome time. Staff were great and different pitches and levels like Chemical Alley, D-Day and Wild West keep it interesting and fun for the whole day.
The only reason i am not going to give this place 5 stars is because the paint balls are so expensive. If you’re planning on spending a day here, you will need at least 500 paint balls (probably more like 1000) and that’s going to set you back about 40 quid. So if you can, bring your own paint. You will save a fortune. Other costs like admission of £12 and food costs are all very reasonable.
Must try and get back once the bruises and swelling has gone down :)
