We loved the look of a large cake which would have been perfect for our daughters graduation but because of her attitude we decided to go somewhere else. So we went to a place where the supervisor was able to answer our questions and purchased a lovely cake.

I really, really want this to be a good bakery as I live very close, but have been in often since it opened and have not once had good service. Why do I keep going back? I'd rather pay money at a mediocre bakery (don't think anything is baked in-house either) than see another estate agent open up.
Food: the quality is okay. Nowhere near as good as Paul, Maison Blanc, Patisserie Valerie but the plain scones are okay. Come on Paul Rhodes: please do a massive customer service overhaul: people will pay good money for so-so products if they are made to feel appreciated! You can do it!

A great selection of breads, pastries and sandwiches that look quite appealing.
Slow service though! I finished half of my food before they made my hot chocolate :-/

The cupcakes were simply AWESOME! Creamy, delicious, amazing, they are like a sort of drug for me now. I am Paul Rhodes’ Cupcakes-addict.
Also the food in general is well cooked and well prepared, my advice is to avoid entering the bakery if you’re on a diet because you won’t resist. Sweeties are amazing, bread and sandwiches are well prepared, awesome!
The service was perfect, i never waited too much, the boys and the girls behind the counter were always smiling and ready to help you in the hard choice of selecting only something to buy (because when you enter there you’d like to buy everything!).
The only fault is that you cannot order their food (specially cakes and cupcakes) from abroad cause when i’m in Italy i cannot find anything delicious like i find at Paul Rhodes.

I am always surprised and amused to reads other people's revues and wonder if they actually know anything about what they buy...!!!!
My experience at Paul Rhodes is the best I ever had, far better than the local competition ( as all the big cheeses are there...). It was such great news, for us locals, when they open last July.
First of all they have a wonderful selection of breads - go and have a look on a Saturday morning to see what I mean - good organic coffee and a selection of appealing sandwiches and cakes.
Service is good and efficient and has improved since last year, even though you still have a to wait a little during busy time ( this is success ).
On my latest visit I was also told, by that young blond lady, that smoothies, English ice cream and new breads will be coming soon... I can't wait !

I have been to this bakery a few times already and my only conclusion is that they deserve just one star. I have tried the scones, their "best in the world cake" (or some name like that) and the meringues. The scones are not bad, maybe too heavy, the cake was average (not the best in the world, that is obvious) but the meringues are simply awful. I bought one of which I had to throw away half, and I'm not demanding at all with food. It just seemed so wrong and not edible.
The staff is not good either. In my first visit the girl behind the counter didn't even know what a scone was. In my last one, they clearly had been trained to up-sell, as if the place was a chain. I guess this is what they want to become, which is very sad.

You can never have too many bakeries ... so far I have only bought loaves of bread here, all delicious. I have been positively impressed with the service and will try and find an excuse to return for their cakes soon.
Unfortunately, the cafe does not look very inviting, but Hyde Park is just up the road - can't wait for Spring!

They make really good speciality bread, especially the olive breads and the garlic, fennel and sultana bread (I know it sounds weird, but it was perfect for toast!). The servers are nice, but there is usually a wait of a few minutes as they are very efficient. The coffee is nice. Have not tried the cakes, but they look really good.

I went to Paul Rhodes' with the intention to buy some bread.
4 Guys behind the counter all paying attention to 2 good looking girls who were trying to order something.
I waited between 5 and 10 minutes and left empy handed without being even noticed.
I, on the other end, paid more attention to the inestistent customer service towards the "normal" guests and to the fact that a couple of waiters were pretending to be busy in front of the pretty girls.
The guest before me was overcharged....I think even the till got distracted.
Delicious food when you get the chance to be served.

Conveniently located on the corner of Notting Hill Gate & Linden Gardens, this bakery opened in July 2010. This used to be the old Marsh & Parsons office, but when they moved, I wondered what we'd end up getting on the high street. When I read a letter notifying that the premises was going to be a Paul Rhodes Bakery and looking it up on the internet, I was counting down the days to taste their delights.
Bakeries are my weakness, I love anything sweet like cakes :-) Inside the decor is modern, you can buy from a selection of fresh bread, pastries and cakes. I bought a medium slice of pizza and a warm croissant, both delicious, my boss had one of their sandwichs, but although he conceded it was a little pricey, he said it was delicious.
Although there isn't much space for sitting inside, the premises has been cleverly designed with a small mezzanine level where there are a few tables and chairs, and outside on the street there are a few tables.
The only downside is that it can take a while to get served, it's not the best in terms of service, but it's certainly a yummy place to go to if you live in the area.
