Wow! So cheap in comparison with London. Cinnamon sounds fab - mmm!

Stopped by with wife and daughter for a lunchtime snack. Pleasant position and managed to get a table in the cafe area quite quickly. Seemed to be lots of staff but had to ask, after 5 minutes, to get order taken. Then a wait of 10 minutes to get drinks and a further 30 minutes for food. Welsh steak burger, ciabatta and crab sandwich were tasty and well presented but didn’t warrant such a long wait and was a little expensive hence only 3 stars. Also, daughter tried the honey icecream from shop earlier in the day… lovely but costs over the odds at nearly £2 for a small cone. If they sorted service and reined in the prices they would have a much better review.

I often buy an ice-cream from the Hive on the Quay and they are lovely. However I recently visited the restuarant at lunch time for a sandwich and a drink and I was extremely disapointed. We waited 15 minutes at a table, I then went and ordered at the counter as no one came to us. When our food arrived, we then had to wait for our cutlery etc. No communication with any of the staff was offered. I ordered lemon chicken on brown crusty baquette, quite simple. The chicken on it I would not have given to a dog. It was just gristle, fat and sinew from the leg. Not a trace of chicken breast in lemon mayonaisse as I expected. I picked it off and ate the bread and the few strands of "garnish"! We never complain but my husband decided it was too bad not to. The chicken was taken away and we waited more than 10 minutes for someone to offer an apology, none came. We then approached the manager who offered and apology and a free dessert, we had to decline as we had to leave. We were given a £5 voucher to use on our next visit. So it looks as if I will not benefit from it as it is highly unlikely I will ever visit there again.

Nice flavours! Look at these: Honey Hazelnut Ice Cream
Honey Ice Cream with Blackcurrant Ripple
Cinnamon and Ginger Honey Ice Cream
Honey and Mandarin Sorbet - “This has a wonderfully fresh, original, clean sherbet flavour - a real ‘wow’ factor”.
Strawberry Honey Sorbet - “Flawless”
----------
It closes early - what if I fancy an ice-cream at eight o’clock in the evening? I would have had it!
It opens around Easter time until October - so no ice-cream either in winter.
It tastes good and is made with honey which I like. One scoop costs one pound.

@amethyst: hello, how much do you pay for a scoop in London these days?
In Aberdyfi a scoop costs 1,40 GBP.
In Germany you pay mainly 1 Euro but I know some smaller towns where you can buy a good Italian ice-cream for 80 Cents. -

It’s more of a ‘treat’ in London, as mostly it’s around the £2 mark per scoop… :-(
