This shop is brilliant, tho you do have to be careful of the opening times - I’d ring and check, its a bit spontaneous.
That said, the stock is fantastic. I got some great desert camo gear for a fancy dress science fiction themed party (Stargate, anyone?) and I chatted on to the guy about his stuff in the meantime. Anyone with survivalist tendencies will know the place well already, I’m sure, but for a fancy dress thing like mine, or for cheap everyday wear (especially in this Arctic weather, they have quite a bit of real Arctic gear) it can be a real find.
An astonishing Aladdin’s cave of surplus equipment, especially boots, gloves, bags, hats, helmets, combat trousers and jackets. Its opening hours are fairly restricted, as if it were a labour of love, rather than a commercial venture.
It’s slightly off the beaten track - only a minute or so away from the busy London Road shopping area near Preston Circus, but you’re unlikely to find it by accident. But if you are in the market for cheap camping and walking gear, or just a student looking for good value clothing, it’s well worth a look.
This is a wonderous place. Open only Friday/Saturday though. I bought a 1960’s airforce canvas bag for £5. Walking boots semms to be very cheap. Some around £30! Its worth a look around at the funny items. They also sale trousers, jackets and coats. Good for the camper fanatic who needs hardy fare for a long trek!
omjames do they do womens clothing? doing a survival corse and need to be in camo head to toe haha
