Wings Cottage

Very nice experience.Friendly,polite  and quick staff,very nice and pleasant  atmosphere.The place is absolutely spotless feels clean and fresh with very thoughtful touches the size is just right to feel cosy,homely and comfortable.I really enjoyed 3 course meal,that was delicious.I will definitely go back again.Highly recommend.

Horrible experience and nasty owner!!!

It is very expensive and no better than other Chinese restaurants in the area. Dreadful Service, the owner was sitting next to the exit door and he did not even say hello when we came and left. We went with my 2 years old doughier and  she was making probably too much noise for the owner who came twice close to our table without saying a word and gave an evil look to my doughier.!!!

Fast service, attentive staff. Bit expensive but the most important is – we’re satisfied.

We went to the Wings Cottage for the fisrt time on Friday night and had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Before you go it is well worth visiting their website and becoming a Wings VIP member (Yes it does sound like a commercial for tampons!!). As a member they will keep you informed of special offers and initially provide you with a voucher for a 3 course meal, valid for upto 12 people, for £15/head instead of £25. The 3 Courses consisted of:

First Course of BBQ pork ribs, Spring Rolls, Crab Claws and Sesame Prawn Toast (The thickest, tastiest, most prawn filled toast that I have ever tasted).
Second Course of Crispy Aromatic Duck Pancakes.
Third Course of Pork in a sweet chilli sauce, sizzling king prawn in black bean sauce, beansprout and mange tout, egg fried rice and Sizzling Beef with Ginger and Spring Onions.

The food was plentiful but you left the restaurant feeling full but not bloated as can sometimes happen with Chinese restaurants and their overuse of MSG. The meal was washed down with a crisp and fruity bottle of "Tin Roof" house white and finished off with a pot of Jasmine Tea. All food and drinks were absolutely delicious and we are looking forward to going back in the near future to try the food off the A La Carte menu.

The staff were extremely friendly and polite. The place is absolutely spotless with a lovely feel and a really pleasant environment. The place is much bigger than it looks from the outside which means that you dont feel that you have to eat your meal off the lap of the person sitting on the table next to you like in so many restaurants.

The only thing stopping me giving this restaurant 5 stars is their insistence on charging a 10% service charge for all customers. We were a party of 2 so not exactly onerous for the restaurant staff. The service was OK but certainly not worth the 10% charge. If they just charged 10% for parties over 6 people this would be much more acceptable.
