We booked a table for 8pm on the Saturday night. We arrive at 7.50 and it was very busy. We advised the bar staff we had arrived, and told we should wait to be called. After waiting 30 minutes my girlfriend approached the manager to ask when our table would be ready. He raised his hand in my girlfriends face told her he didn’t know. 8.45pm and we still had not been called, despite other couples arriving after us and receiving tables.
We approached the manager again, and told him that it was not acceptable that we had to wait so long for a table I had booked a week earlier. At no point did we shout, swear or be abusive in any way, I advised that I may write a review online, at this point the manager refused to serve us. He told me that I couldn’t write a review as I hadn’t been served, and anyway it didn’t matter as they had plenty of customers.
Needless to say we paid for our bottle of wine and will not be returning – the poor girl behind the bar kept apologising for the manager. I think she was as shocked as we were!
