The evening here was truly wonderful.
I was taken to see a concert of Gershwin’s music and songs.
The pianist remained the same, but the vocalists were varied.
It was s’wonderful, s’marvellous with my sweet embraceable date.
For those who don’t know, George Gershwin wrote the music and Ira Gershwin was the lyricist. I have brush that belonged to Ira Gershwin.
It was very romantic, both the concert and the venue. We were about half way back (not in the peanut gallery for which tickets are much less expensive).
The Hollywood Bowl takes advantage of a natural ampitheatre in the mountains. The accoustics are amazing, even though it’s open air. Can you imagine sitting under the stars listening to some of the best lovesongs everwritten?
I was that evening in the City of Angels.
Cleverly the carparking relies totally on the courtsey of drivers; you cannot move your car to leave until the car blocking you in is able to move. I have to say that I miss the courtesy of Californian drivers, and there aren’t many places that such a system would work. It does save a lot of space.
If you’re over there, try to see something here.
