3 reviews of The Juggler Cafe in English
I work close by the juggler cafe and have been going there for years for a close-by coffee. and it really does dissapoint me every time, they have monmouth beans but there is only one girl that works there that doesnt burn the coffee, once i sent my coffee back because it was burnt to coal and the so-called barista said: that’s how it comes out! do you want tea instead?’
once I went in and asked for a fork to eat my packed lunch with and they wouldnt let me have a plastic fork even though I must have purchased hundreds and hundreds of hot drinks there!
since that experience i have stopped going there, find most of the staff unfriendly, the coffee an absolute disaster and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
First review sums this place up well. Great for meetings, away from traffic, home made (or carefully repackaged) food and good coffee. Please keep to yourself or the Starbucks crowd will realise Old Street is an overpriced rip off compared to here!
Hoxton Market is just east of the square where many folk go to sit on the grass in the shade of a tree. If perhaps there are too many folk for you in the square, then head over to this other square. This one’s paved, but the cafe provides tables and chairs and there are a few wee trees for shade. I’ve never seen the place crowded, except at lunchtime on a sunny work day.
I was pleased to see that they serve monmouth coffee, but I’m not an aficionado, so can’t tell you if they do/don’t serve a good cup. They have a large selection of ready-made sandwiches for lunchtime. I had cheese and branston pickle on multi-grain bread. The best part was that the bread had actually been hand-sliced. The sandwich plus a small freshly made juice was 3.9 quid and less if you take-away, perhaps heading back over to Hoxton square to see and be seen with your yummy (but cheap) sandwich.
