Great cocktails! For table service I had to open a tab and so couldn’t keep up with the price of the cocktails (so be aware). Great for after work drinks-no dance floor but seating upstairs and downstairs. Also offered a free cloakroom service.

Another unsatisfied customer here.
The one and only time I’ve been here was for a friend’s birthday.
I really objected to the service charge for waiting on a table and regardless of whether I went up to the bar or waited, the service was incredibly slow and curt.
So not worth it, especially when - as has been said - there are far better bars and pubs in the vicinity anyway.
Unless they change their attitude/management then I won’t be choosing to make a return visit.
I really want to try the blues bar up the road instead.

It was Churchill that once said “I like pigs. Dogs look up to us. Cats look down on us. Pigs treat us as equals”
Well if the Red Bar was an animal it would be a cat - and hang about I know what your thinking you’re thinking - cute little fluffball, chasing after some catnip… not not that sort of cat… it would be the sort of cat that scratches at your leg and has fleas that breaks you out in hives.
You see the Red Bar looks down on you; but that’s ok because I’m not a cat, I’m a Pig and I like hanging out with other Pigs…. and Pigs seem to be much happier in the brilliant pig sties further up Kingly Street.
Avoid this place, it is over priced, it is pretentious, but worst of all…. it’s a big fat cat

I’m not sure i have ever been into a bar where they actually forbid you to stand up, walk 3 paces to the bar and then order a drink. Instead, Bar Red make you wait at your table while you try to catch the eye of a passing server. They then quickly take your order (£4 for a bottle of Grolsch and £4.75 for a white wine) and upon delivery of the beers charge 10% service. Acceptable if you are in an exceptional establishment, but Bar Red is a LONG way from being exceptional. The Bar Manager was incredibly rude to us and after about an hour of trying to look on the bright side, we left.
I will never be going back here and i will be telling everyone i meet that going for a drink in Bar Red is about as much fun as a kick in the face.

Bar Red is a cocktail bar with a buzzing atmosphere. With its tinted red glazed windows, it emanates a warm and relaxed atmosphere as well as serving an array of Japanese dishes.
