Gurkha Brigade

This is a funny little place - the restaurant is old and tired, but the food is unexpectedly nice and excellent value for money.

It's a bit tatty but in a quite nice way.. the pictures of the Himalayas are a pleasant disctraction and they have draught Indian lager (Kingfisher I believe)... I went recently after an abscence of a few years (I uesed to live rtound the corner) and although it doesn't look overly special, the food is very tasty here. The menu offers a few variations on the straightforward Indian menu (as it should seeing as its Nepalese) which is also nice to see. I don't think it offers as good value as it used to, but then again I'm probably just getting old - where does?).

The place was really nice,the food was excellent and the service was great too. They also have a lunch menu for £7.95 and pre theatre menu for £9.95 which is quite decent price. I think its a lovely place to go for a meal.

Excellent value for money, particularly their £4.99 lunchtime menu, which provides something for eveyones taste. The decor is nice, the food excellent & the staff couldn’t be nicer.
Easy to find just look for the big eyes opposite opposite the Playhouse.
