We visited the Saffron Lounge for the first time on December 14, and enjoyed a very pleasant meal. The service was very good and the staff friendly. The food tasted fresh and the portions were about the right size for the reasonable prices.

Visited Saffron lounge on Saturday 12th November.
Me and my partner were given a warm welcome by two waiters who were very polite and took my partners coat to hang up. The decor was very nice since the refurb earlier in the year.
I had lamb karahi (asain style) for extra spiciness and my partner had chicken makhani with a gigantic garlic naan bread. It was fantastic food and plenty of it.
The two young waiters were great and polite, however the older waiter seemed to just stand behind the bar area doing very little.
The overall experience was great the only thing i would say is a wine menu would be a good idea and maybe a coffee/tea menu?
We will be back time and time again if the standard stays this high!

Been here three times in the last three months and the food has been great and the service friendly. Most recently we had the shared platter starter, and the mirchi and kharai currys. Really good flavours, generous portions. Nice relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant. I’d say they’ve got it about right, though we probably wouldn’t have been quite as much if we didn’t have a taste card!

Tried the Saffron lounge out on Friday night Feb 2011. The staff (3 young ladies) were polite when my wife and I arrived and we sat and had a drink before ordering our food. was brought some complementary poppadoms and pickles while we looked at the menu,Nice touch. The place itself was in dire need of a refurb and looked tatty, "The hole in the door was caused not by someone punching it but by a chair been thrown" said the waitress as if that was a good thing. The bottled beer was warm as the fridges Was not switched on. We had starters of chicken Tikka and onion bhajis that was excellent and the house Balti and side of Dhaal was very good indeed. The lamb and chicken kebabs was a strange mix of non descript meat not on skewers in a bright red paste with enough colouring on to send an entire infant school hyperactive. Final words: Good for an after pub drink with your mates, Needs some major work doing to make this a nice place for couples. 2.5/5

Haven't been in Horbrury for a few years but had to come back. i visited the saffron lounge, Gotta say, the food was pretty incredible. The atmosphere is always lively and the staff are always up for a bit of banter. Great for the family, cook to suit all tastes. Glad to be back up North! :)

Used to be decent if not the best food in the area. Ordered some meals recently and the veg dish was tinned veg in sauce and the rest was just edible. Won't be ordering from here again.
