It sure is a shame about Royal Mail. I paid £24 on Thursday 3rd May, 2012 for a next day signed for parcel from Newcastle to Manchester. On Thursday at about 11am, the recipient at Manchester called to ask for the tracking number. Lo and behold, i went online to track the parcel and it was stated that at 8.50am that morning, when they could not gain access to the premises, a card was dropped.
This was a very big lie because the recipient had been home waiting for the parcel and no one had rang the door bell or even left a card. On getting to the Royal Mail office to make a complaint, he was told that the parcel was at the office but he needed to have brought the card.
He explained that no card was dropped. The staff then said a re-delivery would be done the next day (today – 5th May). The staff also took his phone number and promised that the driver bring the parcel would give him a call when he gets to his house.
At 11am this morning, after being up since 7am waiting to hear the postman come, he opens his door and sees the postman trying to slip in a card which states that they are called at 8.50am and did not find anyone. How can they drop off a card at 11am and claim they had been there at 8.50am? What bunch of lies.
Anyway, he now asks for the parcel since he had meet the postman only for the postman to tell him that the delivery driver has driven off with the parcel.
Why are people expected to pay so much for a service that would not be rendered? This is a disgrace and a cheap way of robbing people!!!!!!
