Now that was a great friggin’ sausage!
First you take your pick from the display case - chicken with cherry? Duck? All beef? Vegan? If there’s no one in front of you, you’ll be waiting five minutes or so…if it’s a busy night, you could be in for a 30 minute wait. But oh is it worth it. Not only do you get a fresh sausage cooked to perfection (nothing is pre-cooked at Rosamunde) but you get some killer toppings (sweet peppers and grilled onions please!) and a freshly heated bun.
Rosamunde has spoiled me for good…no sausage will ever compare. Now if I could only make it down on a Tuesday to try their infamous burgers…
Aside from great, inexpensive sausages (vegetarian, too) for lunch, Rosamunde offers great burgers once a week to their loyal followers.
Tuesday Burgers! Order ahead, because they take a while to make. After waiting to order, we waited another 50 minutes for two cheeseburgers. No joke.
But was it worth it? Yes. It was a fabulous burger, smothered in grilled onions and cheese. The vegetables were fresh, the bun was perfect. It was worth waiting near an hour for.
And since they’re right next door to Toronado, you can grab a beer while waiting. It makes passing the time far less grueling.
By the way…they sell out. You have been warned.

I once went in there and exclaimed in a horrible German accent à la Heimlich in A Bug’s Life... ‘Ach! I’m so hungry!’
I was immediately doused with curry ketchup and set on fire.+
That’s how I knew this place means business, and its business is sausage. Good sausage. Weisswurst, Neurenberger - you name it, they put it in a casing made from entrails and grill it. It’s all so good.
And if you find yourself pondering exactly what went into your sausages, go to the bar next door and have a few beers to kill the thought. Trust me. You don’t want to think about it what’s in a sausage. Just enjoy it.
