This TJ’s is a total cluster…
I’ve almost rear-ended all the cars that wait in line to get into this place on a Saturday. Imagine that on the Saturday evening news:
“Trader Joe’s nightmare! Man in Orange Jeep kills 12 in pile-up because he was rushing to Hippie Hill for the Sunday Afternoon Drum Circle”
(I like to get to the Sunday Afternoon Drum Circle on Saturday…to spiritually prepare myself)
And I’m still trying to “figure it out”. Trader Joe’s is aight. I mean…if I’m gonna eat food fresh off the farm, I’m not going to Trader Joe’s. I’m going to (in order of preference):
1) A farm
2) A farmer’s market (Oakland or Marin)
3) Rainbow
If I want gourmet organic health food, I guess I would go here…but the only thing I ever buy here are wasabi peas. God I love those wasabi peas. But this place is so crowded (like they all are) and in general, they’re so oddly set up that I get really really stressed when I shop at Trader Joe’s.
I think TJ’s in general are overrated and they’re so specialty, that I’d sooner go to Rainbow as my one-stop shop for everything “grainy” or “earthy” or “organicky” or “hippie” or “unshaved armpitty”.
