I went to Smodcastle on a sunday evening to see the 'Jay & Silent Bob get Old' Show. The show was great - and the venue is pretty cool too.

It' one of those places you're sure to miss unless you're actively looking for it - even though there is a big name sign above the entrance. It was created to be the home for vaious Kevin Smith Podcasts - and the View Askewniverse is very evident - with pictures of Kevin Smith and various characters from the universe on the walls. The inside is fairly small - and the walls are covered in black so it seems like a very mini theatre - but it works well with the type of shows they hold in there.

There are only 50 seats available so there is a fairly friendly and intimate feeling to the whole place which adds to it all.

The night we were there, there was a camera crew interviewing people in the queue for a segment on the Conan O'Brien (?) show which added to the fun. both Kevin Smith & Jason Mewes had also brought their dogs, so that added a little humour as the kept running around and playing with one another while the podcast / show was going on.

I think the theatre is perfect for the type of shows they hold there and it was a great experience getting to see two character so up close.
