Review of Otarian from 27 May 2011

Tried Otarian for the first time today and I was really impressed. I got the tex mex burger with fries and I loved every bit of it. The burger was incredibly tasty and didn't fall apart in my hand as many vegi burgers do. it was filling but didn't leave me needing to go for a power nap afterwards. Before I went in I imagined it would be full of horrible hipsters and "I'm cool because I don't eat meat" types but it was actually fairly nice and normal inside and the staff were very friendly. I'll definitely be back.

Review of Otarian from 25 October 2010

Otarian has been already largely reviewed by every man and his dog (except on Qype, apparently) so here's my humble opinion. I mostly agree with what has been written elsewhere.
The food is tasty. My cheese and mushroom wrap wasn't too heavy on the onions or garlic sauce (there was none of it) as I feared. It was simple yet balanced and filling.
A bit pricey, but that's not the real problem. The problem is the silliness. The self-importance. The nonsense. As yoy may know, Otarian claims to be "the first low-carbon-footprint restaurant", and everything on the menu has a "creative" name. The creativity consists in randomly placing the letter "O" in the middle of a dish name.
And please, I don't want to destroy our planet, or any planet for that matters, but I don't want to eat looking at videos of cows being force-fed and blah blah blah.
Next time I'll go to Govinda, where at least I'm served by real hippies.
