My husbands parents live in Cleadon, and every time we visit from Leeds we make a point of going to Romanos. Its not the cheapest place in the world, but the quality of the food is exceptional. Service is always efficient but extremely friendly, and we always get a very warm welcome. We have never ever had cause for comlplaint, and recommend Romanos to anyone who will listen! We’re there this Saturday night and I can’t wait, a real treat.
Been since the above review was written, and just want to say again what an amazing place this is. Its in my top 3 fave restaurants EVER.

Great food and a nice friendly bistro atmosphere. Just about perfect for a business or pleasure meal. However, it is rather pricey. Expense accounts might be fine, but only a very special treat when paying yourself!

It is one of the greatest and nicest restaurant I have ever been.
Great food, starter , main dish or dessert. Nice service and decent decoration.
I really recommend this place to dine in.
Very pleased and want to go again to try the rest of the menu.

My partner and I ate here recently on a visit from Manchester.
Delicious food and a good choice of wines. However, the only locally-sourced food on the menu seems to be Minchella’s ice cream, this was quite disappointing.
Romano’s is amazingly over-ambitious with pricing. £20.00 for a sirloin of steak? We’re used to paying a lot less for food of the same (and better) par. £4.50 for a small bowl of olives, too. It would be great to see some sort of meal deal at Romano’s - our fave restaurant, 'Room’, has an excellent 50% off all food before 7pm. Maybe for an out-of-town restaurant, Romano would benefit from something like this.

Lovely place to go for a special occasion. Way too pricey in my opinion for regular visits unless your loaded, but the food and wine are worth the extra cash.
If I had to take a VIP out for a meal it would be here.
