Jeroboams

I always come here when I need a special wine for a posh dinner party.
Actually, I have found that Jeroboams is no more expensive than Oddbins across the road, and you are served by people who really know their stuff.
I like the fact that they are very neighbourly and help out Mr Christian’s next doors - and vice versa.
It is a chain, but doesn’t act like one.

This is the Notting Hill branch of the Jeroboams’ Fine Wine stores chain in West London. They are just off Portobello Road and have a very good wine offering in this store and a fantastic wine lover running the store. He is a Brit who has spent time in France and clearly loves his wine. I got very good advice for red wine (I tried a Minervois which I did not know and was excellent at an ok price) and a good deal for a rose Cote de Provence (Domaine Gavoty reduced from 12 to £8). I will definitely come back. This is next door to Christian’s, the delicatessen store that has been around for 30 years but is now part of the Jeroboam chain too.
