It might sound strange, but this is the first real good fish-restaurant I have found around the great harbor of Hamburg. It's a wee bit posh, but it's not overdone. It's a wee bit expensive, but that has a solid reason in the quality of the food they buy. It has great service, surprising seafood from sustainable fishing. The recipes are not at all traditional Hamburg-style (better don't ask for Rollmöpse), but some dishes do part from that base. All I have tried at Jellyfish was exquisite. They also have a very good selection of wines - but beware, they skip the usual low budget option. So you should first consider if you are in the lucky position where you can put down a hundred something Euro for an intimate dinner for two. If that is so - this is the place.
