Standing on the little platform alongside the single track line you get fantastic views of the sea & beach. It’s the prettiest little station & when you board the train the journey along the coast to St Ives with its views of wide open sky & turquoise sea is delight after delight.

The train ride from St Erth, is worth a trip to St Ives just by itself. It is absolutely amazing…..It goes right along the sides of the cliffs, and sometimes you feel like your floating along above the sea….

St Ives is the cutest little country train station, when you catch the two carriage diesel from St Erth and come chugging along around the cliffs beside the ocean, as the train begins to slow down the whole of St Ives opens up to you and you get the most beautiful view.
There’s not much at the station, but pop out the gates and the beach is right in front of you with its own little cafe. Sometimes there are sand sculptures in the summer, and you can have a nice picnic on the grass and then cool down in the water.
Town is only a short ten minute walk from the station, and there is reliable car parking, although you have to pay.
