Review of Travelex from 12 October 2012

hi, i arrive today at 00:35 at gatwick and my other plane leaves at 06: 30. i want to collect my tax free i got in france. it is from the PREMIER TAX FREE. but...they did not accept this tax free in italy (PISA airport).
please help if you accept it in London, and if you are opened today at those hours.

Hi Joe,
To be able to claim you will need to present you VAT refund forms to Customs at the last Airport from where you leave European Union; therefore you need to present your Premier Tax Free form to Customs at Gatwick Airport. Once your form has been stamped by Customs, you can visit a Travelex VAT refund shop, which is open daily from 4am, if you wish to receive your refund.

I arrive from France on sunday afternoon. My bank made a mistake and I cannot leave with pounds. Could you tell me if the Bureau de Change is opened on sunday ?

I order my money online to get the best rate and i also purchased a cash passport card for europe. I got a better rate than on the day and the service was very quick and the staff were friendly and polite. They also explained that i could exchange more money at the same online rate with no charge which was helpful. There was a manager in the store whilst i was there and seemed to get on very well with all the staff as they were all laughing and smiling which i thought was very nice and put me at ease. The girl that served me explained how to use my card and how it all worked (how to get money off when i came back and how to top up more f needed etc).
I would use this service again.

Review of Travelex from 14 June 2012

We had £1000 of Euros on our card and because of the possible problems of Atms and banks in Greece, we wanted to get our Euros off the card before we leave the UK, unbelieveably this is not possible in this country without converting back into Pounds first, taking a massive hit on a reverse conversion. The only way of getting our Euros is to use the card in a non UK ATM or bank. So basically these people have got £1000 of our money and won't return it when asked to do so. Very, Very, angry!!!!

why didn’t you just draw it out as soon as you get to your destination? surely there was an atm in the airport when you landed? also everyone knows that if you have got “euros” when your in the uk even if they are on a card you have to go through the pound like when your in america you would have to go through the dollar etc and its not the persons fault they can’t give you something they can’t authorise or do!
