our absolute favorite restaurant in Malta! Away from the ugly, loud fast food strip of Bugibba above the calm and beautiful St. Paul's Bay.
The cuisine starts with a nice amuse geule: roasted garlic bread. For first course take the pasta vongole (8,50 E) and for the main courses: swordfish (the best I ever ate) and calamar (see picture, 14 E), just total fresh and delicious.
The Maltese wine here is a surprise. 7 E for a bottle of a dry fine white.
The cook and owner is a perfect chef de cuisine: picks the seasonal best from the fishermen and doesn't spoil it with intrusive sauces; just a little bit of fine herbs and olive oil and the right while on the charcoal (!) grill.
