Review of Ulster Independent Clinic from 14 March 2013
I attended the clinic in December 2012 for septo rhino surgery and had to stay in overnight.
I am someone who has a fear of hospitals, but the staff took great care of me and put me at ease.
The surgeon Mr D Gordon was very professional and took time to listen to my concerns.
The procedure itself went smoothly and there was no pain it was more discomfort and annoyance of having to try and sleep upright etc.
I would definately recommend the clinic for anyone thinking of this procedure.

Review of Ulster Independent Clinic from 12 February 2013
I attended the Ulster Independent Clinic for the first time as an outpatient In Feb'13.

The staff were very courteous and  took an  interest in my medical complaint. I had an appointment with a neurologist Dr. J. J. Craig whom I had previously seen at another location.    As usual he was a gentleman, takiing time to listen and was concerned with the level of pain I was in. He was exceptionally helpful and went out of his way to help me get the medication I needed from the pharmacy in the clinic.

All the staff  I came in contact with from appointments, nurses, consultant and  the accounts staff were exceptinally pleasant, courteous and helpful and I would have no hesitation in recommending the clinic (outpatients) dep and I will be returning there very shortly for further medical treatement.

I attended ulster clinic 29/1/13 xray department as a self paying patient. Extremely busy place. Staff were ok nothing really impressive, seemed to have more time for their BUPPA patients etc. However my consultant was ok, wee nurse with him was lovely. Got horrible coffee and baking soda scone !!!! I suppose I work in a high class bakery where my bosses would be astounded to taste such low standard food. However that's minor. I wanted to settle my bill before I left so went in search of office. Went to office window, girl just about acknowledged me. I explained I wanted to settle my bill, she sharply replied "where you upstairs" I said no just had xray, she proceeded to her printer and gave me my bill. She didn't make any pleasant chat like any normal person. Perhaps if it wasn't for the like of myself and others she wouldn't be behind her cosy desk. She told me my amount, I put my card into machine, she initialed it. No pleasantness whatsoever. Perhaps my £350 was nothing to her but it is quite an amount for me. If I need private medicine again I feel I would give Ulster Clinic a miss !!! My husband was even shocked at her superior snooty attitude. I am not a nasty person but I work hard for my money and a bit of respect goes a long way.

I attended 17th. December 2012, and this is my opinion. very good overall impression, pleasant facility with prompt and courteous people involved. Extensive diagnostics explanation, each issue and the relative repercussions involved were thoroughly explored with an excellent synopsis at the finish. I am happy to pay for this level of commitment and involvement.  This was  very pleasant experience for me. CREDIT to: Thank you Dr. Paul Johnston - Thank you 'reception lady'

The ulster independent clinic is a private hspital which professes care to patients and relatives . I found the surgeons to be wonderful people but the nursing staff and administrators have no sympathy or compassion leaving me no option but to get out before I was well enough. it may look pretty and have your own room but without family members there to support you it may ad well be a prison. We lost trust in one nuts but the hospital refused to remove him from my care tram r en though I did mot want to be treated by him . What has happened to the private patient who is paying for their treatment having to put up with being bullied by nursing staff with no companion . They broke all our wishes and refused our concearned. It time the health providers took notice

I had an MRI here several years ago, which was fine.

However, this review is based on my being a prospective customer for diagnosis and (hopefully not) surgery for my husband.
I've been looking at the websites for the Ulster Independent Clinic and Kings Bridge Private Hospital on the Lisburn Road, and looking at reviews.
I haven't yet looked the the reviews for Kings Bridge (hunting still to do), but UIC is getting VERY mixed reviews. The telling thing for me is that UIC' Patient information is that you will receive a letter 2 weeks before admission, and the payment details. KBPH is giving you ALL the stuff that you actually expect in patient information. It certainly looks, based on their website, that UIC consider the only thing you should be thinking about is how to pay them, which is certainly in keeping with the reviews on this site.
Oh dear!

I'll look for reviews for KBPH before making up  my mind, but first impressions are that I'll be looking anywhere but UIC ...

Unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience there too. Gastro Consultant did not read to the end of my notes before diagnosing me. He didn’t let me finish a single sentence and even patronised me a couple of times for good measure. He could see I was in distress but made no attempt to calm me, instead he referred me to a heart specialist when it has now turned out to be a stomach related issue all along.

R ooms were very clean, very much like a hotel. Nurses were fine until you had a problem, such as post-op pain. They clearly just wanted me out of there.
On my day of discharge,I told them I didn`t fell well at all and couldn`t walk because of the pain. They told me to lie on the bed until my Dad arrived to collect me.On his arrival,he asked them was it ok to take me home as I was so obviously ill. They said yes, without checking as much as my blood pressure. He proceeded to carry me from the clinic.
24 hrs later I was an emergency admission to A&E with septicemia.

Review of Ulster Independent Clinic from 28 September 2008

I had my wisdom teeth out here a few years ago and i was very impressed. The consultant was very helpful and explained everything in gory detail. The nurses couldn’t have been nicer, they were reassuring as i was nervous and even the food in the afternoon was lovely.
My room overlooked a garden and had a tv, video and en suite bathroom. The whole room was sparkling clean and all i had to do was buzz if i needed anything.

To be honest, it was just like staying in a hotel. I was on a soft diet so they gave me soup and tuna sandwiches.

I wanted to stay overnight but they made me leave! lol

I have to agree with nichola the ulster clinic is truly the worse in belfast if not northern ireland! The doctors are down right rude and just want you out of the room as quickly as possible so they can get done with the the patients and drive home in their fancy sports cars its insane!

I heard from my GP that the consultants refer to it as ‘The Till on the Hill’ :)
