Adiva Restaurant

Adiva is great fun with delicious fresh tasting food. I have visited the restaurant twice on 2 very different occasions and it was just right for both. I enjoyed a relaxed and cosy night with my partner mid week and a fun and entertaining night on the weekend for a friends birthday. The food is healthy and fresh, nothing too fancy but delicious flavours. The excellent point about this restaurant is that it is BYO so its excellent value for money, you can eat well and drink what you want for about £22! I mus say that they particularly handled our large group of 20 well and they had about 5 other large groups that night. I will be returning.

I would say this is more Spitalfields-Aldgate East than City, though it positions its decor and ambience well between City and Brick Lane Lebanese/Turkish. The owner and service were friendly but the advertised 'discounts' seem to be what everyone gets anyway, so not for real deal people! The felafel were good quality and the fish dishes competent if not as memorable. the lamb shank wasn't quite called that and was tender but is that Turkish? One of the dishes was cold and although it was replaced hot no compensation was offered. This place could be just right; it's not been open long and needs more perfecting.

I've ordered from this place a few times and the food was freshly cooked, non-greasy and tasty. The ingredients are authentic, e.g. the salad sauce is made with sumac. Recommended if you are pining for grilled meat and a nice salad.
