I was recommended to buy a car from G Scott Cars from a friend who has bought cars from this company for a long time. I bought a small car for my mother 2 months ago and she is over the moon with it. It is a fantastic small car. The service I received was top-class, they couldn’t have been more helpful. I recommended this company to a friend and they have recently purchased a car from there and are also thrilled with the car that they purchased. They commented that the service was brilliant.
Not everybody can afford new cars and without a garage like this it would be quite difficult to find a car and a service like this.
Wouldn’t hesitate to use again.

I also bought a car from this ‘reputable’ used car company that’s been there for 20+ years. My thoughts were – If they’ve been there for that long they must be alright, WRONG! I bought a car that had been workshop checked, low mileage, looked in reasonable condition for the price, had a bit of service history and they described it as being a ‘Credit to it’s previous Lady owner’. That’ll do for me I thought, well at least for a year or two. After running it for a few weeks I discovered the following: Engine fan didn’t work, losing coolant so due to the overheating the head gasket looks like it’s gone, rear wiper motor seized, hand brake seizes when left overnight, hole in the exhaust. Yes I’m guilty for not giving the car a good looking over but when assured that it had been workshop checked I didn’t feel the need.

I located this car dealer from auto trader who sold second hand cars. I had bought a car from them with the assurance that everything was working fine. I was just after a reliable cheap to run car. The car was a 1999 Nissan Almera. You don't expect the car to be perfect but if the dealer says it has been "workshop checked" then everything should be o.k. The car was sold with potentially fatal faults, the drive shaft boots on the front of the car were split which could cause the wheels to lock up. The front tyres were also worn down to the legal limit and had to be replaced. I had the car for less than 2 weeks, so I phoned to enquire about the faults. The manager phoned me back he said "All our cars don't come with a warranty, the car was running fine when we sold it" The car was also only getting around 20 miles per gallon which for a 1.4 engine on the open road is pretty poor. When I asked him about this he said " Its normal mpg for that type of car, you might want to change the spark plugs and air filter". The fault for this turned out to be the front brake sticking on one side. It sounded to me like he wasn't really interested, now that he had taken money for the car. I have now had to have the car repaired to make it safe to drive, at a different garage. The cost was an extra £200 on top of what I already paid. This included Tyres, Drive shaft boots, brake parts, and labour charges. I also had to apply for V5 registration document myself because they did not send off for it. I will be selling the car soon, as it has cost far too much money already. This is the first time I have written a review, and normally I let little things go, but if you spend so much of your hard earned money for a service which is poor, you have to let other people know. I would advise to check a car thoroughly if you intend to buy from this dealer, and walk away if there are any signs of faults, because they will not help you after you have bought the car.
