I think they closed down!
No surprise, when last eating there at Christmas, the food was possibly avarage, the service slow, they forgot 2mains and got a starter rong (meat, instead of veg!), half their wines were out of stock…
This was a very sad contrast, as for the preceding 5yrs I had fabuloys experience! Delicious, aromatic, big choice, nice atmosphere, great friendly staff!
…ah, good things come yo an end too…

The restaurant is beautifully decorated and feels very authentic, the food is delicious and very reasonably priced for the large portions that they serve. The bread is made fresh in the window which is a lovely touch. The only problem was we went on a Thursday night and they were pretty much out of all the wines and only had Becks beer left, with the waiter giving the reason that they get their drink stock delivered on a Friday, a bit lame really, order more to last you through the week! This was annoying but otherwise a great night!

This restaurant is well worth trying. We hadn’t eaten Moroccan food before so were pleased our waiter was willing and able to guide us through their extensive menu. We decided upon the ‘grill feast’, a four course meal, which allowed us to try lots of dishes. It was a good choice and washed down well with a couple of bottles of Moroccan beer. The restaurant wasn’t busy, probably because it was early, but we didn’t feel intimidated as the restaurant has a really warm, cosy, intimate feel. I wish they sold the crockery they use and lamps – would look cool in my flat.

A truly abysmal experience
I ate there today with my partner and was expecting something pleasant, they have inviting decor and I have eaten at many North African restaurants before so was hoping for an enjoyable experience.
I ordered a vegetable tagine and some tea for a drink, with a borak for a starter.
The coffee took twenty minutes to arrive, the starter another fifteen after that and the tagine took HALF AN HOUR despite asking the waitress numerous times, who seemed to have forgotten our order.
When the food did come it was cold, bland and the vegetables were undercooked. The waiters struggled to English so I spoke to them in Arabic, even then they were rude and obtuse, they were unwilling to consider any of my criticisms or explain why it had taken over an hour to prepare my food and why the result was an undercooked mess.
I was extremely disappointed with this restaurant, it is the worst North African I have ever eaten at and one of the worst restaurants I have ever eaten at in any country in the world. Terrible service, bland, undercooked food and waiters with limited English. Avoid at all costs.

I went to Bouga last night and it was excellent, I completely agree with Velven above. Our waiter was a really nice guy and the food (and cocktails) were great. It’s the decoration that makes this place a great experience though, and the nice low tables and sofas make you feel very relaxed.
There seems to be a thousand Moroccan/middle eastern restaurants in London now, and I’ve been to a lot of them (I really like the food), and this is certainly one of the best.

Excellent Moroccan food, waiters and waitresses are very kind and bubbly, the whole atmosphere of the place is a brilliant experience. The restaurant itself has been lavishly decorated in a North African theme, lots of comfy cushions and mosaic. Fantastic place to go for dinner and for what you get the price is unbeatable!
