Large store with much to choose from. Staff are rather blunt and unhelpful though and in my last visit managed to loose several quid off a giftcard I used! Pricier than many similar stores nearby.

A pretty big shop which is spread over two floors specialises in stationery and books. Similar to Paperchase, all the top brands of the stationery world can be found here. From pink plastic Play Boy pretty things to posh Parker pens, there seems to be a brand of stationery marketed at everyone. ‘Everyone’ does not include the people who want cheap and plain. The shop sells their own brand at a lower cost than most names but don’t expect bargains. The Book section is on the ground floor at the back. Best sellers are what most people would shop for here but they can order in at your request. Last time I tried this I was told it could take months so I decided to shop elsewhere. This shop has the largest paper and magazine section I’ve seen and seems to go on forever. Drinks, sweets and other sugary treats are near the tills and DVDs/Games/CDs are upstairs. Most people call it Smiths since it’s easier and sounds less pretentious. It’s still a shop that tries to set its own standards. Not for cheap skates.
