Review of Banana Republic from 5 December 2011

Banana Republic is dreadful. I am not talking about the Regent Street store, but the online store.
Basically, first they failed to deliver my purchases and now they are not reimboursing me. THey gave me the name of their legal department in the US, but the UK Small Claims Court does not accept that.
Please, please, please don’t buy from Banana REpublic online. Also, they use Yodel which is dreadful.

Review of Banana Republic from 27 January 2010

The menswear department in the basement is an oasis of calm compared to the rest of Regent Street. I'm a big fan of BR's preppy basics, and it's a very well turned out store, identical to its American sisters.

BR are good at shirts, coats and jumpers. The quality is good and subtly on-trend, without being too dad-esque or Hamptons. I'm one of those won't-shop-in-GAP snobs too, so am very happy to see BR in London. Apparently there's another store opening in Covent Garden soon.

The sales are excellent too.

Nice to have this 'slightly more upmarket Gap’ come to the big smoke.

The stuff in here might be a bit generic and preppy, but you will find the odd good thing in here esp if you’re looking for the basics.

My wife loves it, if that counts for anything?!

I’m not a shopper, but when i do clothes shopping… i often go to Banana Republic. This is a big, big store (3 floors i think) and everything from shirts, trousers and jumpers to underwear and jewellery.

I can’t believe Marina’s comment below! “For people between 35-45”! I feel old!

I used to view Banana Republic as too American (whatever that means) and just an upmarket Gap.

But increasingly I am finding good stuff; essentially I guess it still is upmarket gap, but the quality and thought in current ranges seems high and its a great place for the summer staple clothing requirements.

And the store is large, open and spacious so works as a decent shopping experience even for a relunctant male.

Review of Banana Republic from 18 June 2008

I didn’t know a lot about Banana Republic before they opened a shop in London. This brand is linked to GAP and Old Navy which is good to know as the jeans are too expensive at Banana and it’s better to buy them at Gap as it’s the same company.

The store is big with three floors, you can find everything in there, jewellery, beauty, gifts, clothes of course, shoes, bags, underwear and sleepwear either for women or men.

I heard it was expensive and I agree with this. Indeed, the design is very simple maybe because of the quality but I didn’t feel it.

As I saw it, I would say that it’s for people who are working or 35/45. The clothes seem to be comfortable but there are too simple for me.
