Agree with Karim. This place is ace. The bread is always fresh, the fillings are out of this world (how do they think them up?!) - there’s one that’s got olive paste and goat’s cheese and chilli sauce or something.

Possibly the most excitingly gourmet sandwich place when you’re close to the university. The Swedish meatball sandwich on bread I’ve never even heard of tastes like an explosion of quality in your mouth. Outrageously filling, you’ll have to pay around £2.50 for these bad boys, but if you’re a) a gourmand or b) have just finished an exam or something and need to celebrate, then Bakery 164 is for you! They also make amazing lattes for £1.20 that are heated to below that heavy scalding level that make you want to cry and drink your coffee at the same time. It’s always packed but don’t try to shoplift as they’ve recently hired some Iranian guy that looks like he murders for laughs.
