Review of Boyes from 7 November 2010

Boyes stocks up on a huge range of items and at great prices we can all afford. The ground floor consists of Cosmetics, Ex-chainstore clothing (mens, womens, girls, boys, babies and even fancy dress and christening outfits), Kitchen utensills, House hold items and baby equipment.

I used to get my youngests baby clothes from there and it would cost arround the £10 mark for a 3 piece outfit in newborn. Although you must be careful when it comes to buying things like baby bottles and soothers as there the same as the ones in Grimsby's Poundworld (located a 10minute walk away) costing more.

Upstairs is a wide range of craft materials consisting of Fabric, Needles, Paints (fabric and non) Wool, Card making supplies, Beads, Ribbons also Iron on and Sew on badges.

Upstairs is also furniture, blinds and curtains (including nets), curtain poles, fishing rods, cushions, mirrors and canvas pictues.

A extending curtain pole would set you back about £13 and the prices of blinds vairy. My living room curtains were £15 a pannel and my dining room £15 for the pair so quality and prices do vairy.

The store itself could do with a good a tidy and maybe an employment of more staff to help with the up keep of the shop. Queue waiting time is minute i personally have never waited long. They have there own store carpark which is situated at the back of the shop but i do believe it is pay and display.

a big shop with a wide range of goods for sale ranging from food to underwaer, diy crafts, the craft side has gone downhill of late as they used to have loads of stuff but seem to concentate more on knitting now,it is always busy surprisingly as freeeman street is not used much now since the shopping precinct opened, the stafff are always friendly and are willing to go to the back and look for somthing if it cannot be found.i would recommend people to try boyes as it is usually the cheapest place and they usually have what you want i have visited boyes for many years often making special journey just for that one shop

As it’s already been said the best place for bargains in Grimsby, even outdoes some of the market stalls for cheap prices. Over two levels. Downstairs is just everything and anything from toiletries, clothes, toys, cards, shoes, etc, Upstairs furniture, rugs, lamps, you name it, if it’s in home furnishings they’ll have some kind of version of it in Boyes.

What can I say that hasn’t been said. I visit this one when I get the chance because it’s like an english version of a bazaar. A cornucopia of varied things at sometimes unbelievable prices. Great for picking up last seasons clothes at bargain prices, underwear and bargains on fabrics. Nearer to christmas it’s great for sweets and chocolates. I think it’s mainly overproduction, past season, slight seconds and end of line stuff but the prices make it worthwhile. I always find at least one bargain.

Boyes is one of those shops that you just keep going back to! I always go just before I go on holiday as you can pick up some great bargains on clothes especially for kids. Toiletries are also good value for money and you can buy make up at discount prices. You can also pick up designer shoes such as sketchers at a great price. Upstairs is an Aladdins cave of furniture, curtains, and other soft furnishings, and for the creative among you, it will be like you’ve died and gone to heaven! Everything you need from material, buttons, and zips to card making and cross stitch kits. Well worth the visit if you’re in the area.

I really miss this place.
A large store on 2 floors. Downstairs is what I think may be catalogue returns and overmakes. Very cheap clothing, undies, shoes, crockery and kitchen stuff, gardening equipment, sweeties, CHEAP branded toiletries and cosmetics eg famous name moisturisers normally 20 squid for £3.99, tons of tools and DIY stuff including paint. It is mainly known names..may be end of line. I bought a Wonderbra for £3.99!

Upstairs is THe bit for me. They have carpets, flooring, bedding furniture, curtains etc but thecraft supplies are top notch and cheap!!! Big range of cheap and gorgeous fabrics..clothing or household, patterns, wool. Whatever your hobby or craft you will find something here. I saw an overlocker (normally about £350 for £60!

I may have to go the 200 miles back soon as I have withdrawal symptoms and cannot find a lot of the stuff online and certainly not as cheap.
