I had to give Game Grid one star in order to submit the review, but actually it deserves no stars at all.
In the 10p falls machine the coins drop off the ledge but somehow don’t then appear in the pay-out tray. The racing games take the £1 coin but don’t start the game. These things both happened in a ten minute period yesterday afternoon.
The attendant on duty has no access to machines and to get your money back you have to fill in a card giving all your contact details, but the attendant cannot give you a contact address for the company – she claims not to know it. She did give me a phone number that goes to a box number with no company name mentioned.
I’m really suspicious that this company doesn’t maintain its machines properly and banks extra profit each year because many customers can’t be bothered to claim back what they’ve lost (or don’t speak good enough English to do it). If you get £1.50 from 100,000 customers a year, I make that a cynical fraud on the public of £150,000. And a lot of the punters are kids.
Shame on you, Game Grid!

Right, this place kind of fails, not too much though. So basically Game Grid is an arcade, and a kind of rubbishy one at that. On the Gatwick Airport website it says 'A great way to pass time', no. If you want to pass time, go and look around the shops, eat and sleep!
It eats up all of your money and is actually kind of pointless really. Usually it's pretty empty except for a couple of kids playing racing games or shooting games.
If you've got some spare money in your pocket, and some spare time, just play a quick game or two, better than doing nothing! But I wouldn't waste all of my money in there. That's why I give Game Grid a pretty dim 2/5!
