I love this place, but only because it's so strange.
I was surprised the first time I saw it as I stomped past on my way to something far more riveting. Sandwiched between a chicken cottage and the co-op, it dates back to 1931 and has been preserved due to the unusual arcade or dual window frontage that was popular in the art deco period.
Here's what Camden Council has to say about the Grade II listing:

Cheap items and it's open most days, althugh I've never seen anyone else going in or out!
definitely worth a look, especially if you need some dress ups for a D Day party or something!
Wonderful listed shopfront from a bi-gone age. Now stocking Vivien of Holloway. They look so perfect in the window.
A legend in Kentish Town, providing a lot of charm to the variation that is the shopping experience along the high street. In amongst the Somerfields/Wollies/Tescos and Boots - there are a whole array of unusual and very traditional shops.
Basically Blustons offers fashion from the 1930s and it really doesn’t care that things have moved on. It’s still out there offering highly suitable outfits for the well to do mature lady.
Love the way the window is done - it’s a multitude of wire frame dummies with various flowery dresses carefully hung on them. Everything about the place is like a step back in time, from the window set up to the checked tiled floor entrance. It’s just a wonderfully unique place to see in 2008, so go see it.
I think I’ve read somewhere that’s it’s been around for about 70 years an long may it continue. Go check it out and for gods sake buy something to make sure its around for another 70 years and doesn’t get turned into GAP!
