Uk Campsites website is a huge resource for any camper – we’ve found it very useful and reviews tend to be spot-on. Why then have Billing Aquadrome opted NOT to have reviews listed on their page on UK Campsites website I wonder??!!
Our weekend ( came back yesterday ) was booked by a family member. Having seen reviews on here and other websites ( I’m sure Billing would block reviews on these too if they could!! ) – I would have booked elsewhere if the choice had been mine to make.
Billing is fine if you dont consider personal hygiene too important, if you like feeling intimidated by groups of complete scum, a complete lack of privacy or space ( aka battery farming ), constant noise, or a big ‘traveller’ presence. Looking around this awful site you can appreciate the type of people attracted to it. The place is filthy, dog excrement and litter everywhere, and two shower blocks for a site of this size surely is a health issue.
The staff at the gate were totally disorganised, filing thru boxes of paperwork to find everyones documents on arrival – what decade is this again?!! Had to queue for 40mins to get in.
Staff were generally rude and unhelpful – can’t blame them as the inhabitants on the whole left a lot to be desired. Blocked sinks, no loo roll, vandalised toilets and filth were the order for the weekend. Big ‘traveller’ presence on site. EXTREMELY noisey ALL night. We all managed 8 hours sleep OVER 3 nights. Felt unsafe – lots of intimidating groups around – not just teenagers. Another site has a review for the same weekend – reviewer witnessed a fight outside a loo block – I’m not at all surprised.
Went camping to Skegness Waterpark a couple of weeks ago- I hate Skeg Vegas BUT this is a stunning, affordable and v. friendly site – Billing has made us fall in love with Skegmess!
BILLING AQUADROME? EXPENSIVE SH@THOLE TO BE AVOIDED! Do you’re homework first. Took some video footage of the place – once I’ve figured how to upload oto You Tube I’ll update this with a link.

Well, after reading the other reviews, I think we were very lucky! We went there as part of The Sun holidays deals, so didn’t have particularly high hopes but it was actually really good!
This place is well-located just to the south of Northampton and 10 mins or so from the M1. There are plenty of civilized places in the vicinity to visit, so you’re not stuck in the rear-end of nowhere like many UK holiday resorts.
We stayed in one of their rental static caravans, and to be honest apart from the caravan itself we didn’t actually go to any other parts of the aquadrome (what exactly is an aquadrome anyway?!). So my 5* rating IS BASED SOLELY ON THE CARAVAN ACCOMMODATION!
The vans are apparently all brand new, and ours was lovely. It had decent heating in all rooms, the kitchen was new and modern with microwave & fridge freezer and there was a TV/DVD. The main bedroom was relatively spacious and there was generous storage space. The bathroom was bigger than that in a Barratt home and the shower was decent enough. Spotlessly clean so all-in-all, perfect really.
Staff were friendly at the reception/security gate, and from what we saw of the park on the drive in and out it all looked quite pleasant. Not disputing the other reviews at all, but if you’re looking for a cheap weekend break in a caravan you could do a helluva lot worse than go here.
By the way…don’t be fooled into thinking that an aquadrome is a water park! My 4yr old was devestated to find out there was no swimming pool.

Billing aquadrome is a large campsite in Northamptonshire. It is set on very large grounds and offers pitches for tents caravans and motor homes, with plenty of areas especially for electric hook up requirements. The electric hook up pitches is very large and it is ideal if you have a bigger sized multi pod tent as we have. We have enjoyed some really relaxing weekends here but unfortunately their shower and toilet blocks let them down. For such a big place that has so much to offer it would be perfect if you knew you could at least shower in a clean area, this is not possible at billing, the showers do not work properly, and they are badly maintained and need cleaning. Due to this we are sad to say we won’t visit there anymore, when you are camping for a few days a shower is very important. The rest of the place is fantastic and I would fully recommend if the showers and toilet block was not required.

I went there in July and camped for two nights because all the hotels were booked.
The experience was not very pleasant, but on the plus side, there was a new toilet and shower block that was quite clean.
We had breakfast in the morning, we were not expecting much and were not disappointed.
The strange thing was: we had to wallk past the amusements in the evening on our way back, and they had one of those high-pitch (like mosquito noise) generating gismo that deter teenagers. Odd, we thought, when surely it is teenagers that they would want to attract…
We had no intention of staying anyway.

camped here in may 2008.
camping field was covered in goose droppings the size of a small dog
toilets & showers poor
fairground limited but ok for under 10’s
crazy golf good but overpriced
understands it gets very busy when there’s a rally on (land rover, mini, american cars etc)

My experience of Billing Aquadrome is a pleasant weekend we spent there with friends in our caravans many years ago.
Unfortunately there were storms overnight, no big deal in a ‘van but for some reason the water control system broke down, the whole flood-plain flooded and we woke up to see a foot deep lake surrounding us!
After carring my wife to the car, she wasn’t keen on the possibility of worms touching her feet whilst wading, we followed the bin bags, marking water logged the road, we went home :)
Campers nearer the river were less fortunate.

I used to live near Billing Aquadrome and never understood why so many people rave about it! It’s dirty & smelly & outdated!
