The lane swimming is excellent £3.40 for 1 1/2 hours, 4 x 25m lanes open 6am to 9pm Monday to Friday and 8am - 5pm. Friday Families only 6pm-7:30pm (Lane Swimming 8am - 10am Saturday) Saturday and Sunday. The operate a rubber band system were you get changed in a open changing room and put your clothes in a plastic basket and take it outside the pool to reception. They will take the basket and put it in a secure room and give you a coloured band depending on when you got in. You will then get about an hour and a half before the buzzer sounds for your colour.
The water is clean because it is sand filtered 24 hours a day. Sometimes it is a bit cold. They aim for 28c all the time.
Showers are warm.
Great pool for kids. Easy to get to and parking is free. Staff are helpful. Theres a cafe where you can sit and watch the swimmers if you arent swimming yourself. The pool itself is good, small bit for babies, and then a shallower bit for the older kids. The deeper bit for adults is roped off so good if you want to swim away from the kids. Its not changed here for years, but we all still enjoy it!
large leisure centre with all sorts of activities. The swimming pool is ok nothing exceiting to be honest. It hasnt changed since I was a kid it definately needs a change. Your not allowed to dive in or climb on any of the fixed objects in the pool. Not the best day out for the kids but worth a luck if you cant be bothered going anywhere else
Not a bad swimming pool but it definitely needs a refurb - this has not changed since I was a child. Now looks a bit grotty but the kids still enjoy it. Gets very busy at weekends. Many other facilitites at the centre including gym and cafe. A large car park can be found right next door to the venue.
We use this for swimming, which is very good and safe for any child from baby to older. The main swimming pool at weekends is just for messing around. The slide is ok but less able swimming children best avoid it. We tried to go down with our young child as a twosome, but you are not allowed.
You are restricted to what you can climb on. There are whales in the sloping part.
The car park is free if you get a pass when you pay for your activity.
Not only is there swimming, there is all the range of sports you expect from any leisure club.
This used to have a monthly membership scheme for the gym, but the website will tell you more.
On a dreary day, this will entertain any `bored` child
