Excellent real old fashioned pub. Sadly they are a dying breed. Great ale and great atmosphere. All it needs is to be left alone......it's worked for many years so don't fix it!

Cracking little pub, I always try to pop in for a few pints whenever I’m in Lincoln. Its one of those pubs that time has forgot and long make it stay that way. Oh its got a good selection of real ale which is another major plus point for the pub.

A very friendly pub and very old fashioned. Elderly locals mainly.
People think they have misread the name and it should be Smugglers but no.
It stands in the shadow of the castles Cobb Tower on top of which public hangings were done..eg strugglers.

This pub also seems to be haunted by the Black Dog seen elsewhere.
The hungry phantom hound reported to haunt the castle walls

would sometimes try to enter this inn, scratching and barking at the door.
