I went to Feel yesterday on the recommendation of a friend of mine.  I had a really good experience from the moment I went - they took my coat, offered me a drink.  My stylist, Ingrid, was very friendly - she listened to what I wanted, offered a couple of comments of her own about my hair (she was spot on), we decided on a plan of action, and then Ingrid snipped away.  Ingrid really knows her stuff, and cuts hair beautifully.  I thought they were very reasonably priced - I have paid more for less!  I'm a big fan and will definitely be back.

I had my roots and toner done by Brigita and ended up woth exactly what I wanted, which is a real win! I have blonde hair and like a nice icy colour, but many colourists seem to just give me what they want. She listened to me, suggested a few different options and really went the extra mile to get my colour even. She also suggested some really fun things we could do next time (I like my bright colours!) - I'll be back.

I was very impressed with my colour with Brigitta at feel. I went in with dip dyed hair that had faded out into 3 different colours and was in a real mess and wanted to go back to blonde and get a even natural colour. It was a lot to ask but Brigitta produced results which were more than I could have hoped for with such difficult hair to work with. I ended up with a lovely natural blonde which is much better than I could ever have imagined! Brigitta listened to my concerns and knew what was possible and talked me through the process. She took a lot of care and attention to make sure she was getting a good result, what more could you want. Definitely one of the best experiences at the hairdressers I have had! I will definitely be going back.

My hair was in dire need of rescuing after a very bad haircut where the stylist didn't listen and I hated the result - happily this experience was the complete opposite and the lovely Monica made me like my hair again! Unpretentious and great value, I had my hair cut in my lunch hour and would definitely go back.

Worst haircut and hairdresser experience I've ever had.

First of all, my appointment ended up being 45 minutes late, why I didn't walk out I don't know! I thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt but I wished I hadn't bothered. It was busy so I didn't mind so much about the lateness, but not one person came over to apologise or explain what was happening and why things were running so late. I had to ask myself which shouldn't be the case.

In every other salon I've been to, I'd be offered a drink and someone would take my jacket and bag. This just didn't happen here, and didn't once throughout my haircut. Isn't this a standard thing at a salon like this? A little customer service maybe?

The stylist completely ignored what I said I'd like done, even when I reminded her over and over. I've ended up with some sort of uneven mullet. I never get anything crazy done, just a very standard haircut. I don't understand how it has been messed up so badly!

Not only is my haircut atrocious, but my stylist was working on another customer at the same time. I get that it was busy, but it's pretty unacceptable to do this. I would have rather she finished with her other customer, then come to me. No wonder I have a terrible haircut as she was preoccupied with someone else. It felt very rushed, and I kept being told by my stylist that 'she had other customers waiting'. That's not really my problem! I'm sure like myself they'd rather you took your time and did a good job!

I have never been to a salon like this. I would not recommend going here, and I most certainly won't be going back. I cannot relate to the positive reviews here.

Feel is quite simply the best salon I have ever been to.The staff are extremely professional, yet friendly and always give good, thoughtful advice.

I first went to feel to get quite a dramatic style change, I lost my long curly locks in favour of a very short punky quiff, and I have never looked back. Heath is exceptionally skilled and I always know I will get a brilliant cut and colour. You know you have a good haircut when strangers on the street come up to you and tell you so!

I'll never go anywhere else in London. Thanks everyone!

Shame there are only 5 stars!  I have been having Heath cut, colour and advise me on my hair for over 15 years he is so good that when he set up Feel and left his old employers I followed him to Feel as did many of his customers.

I can honestly say that I have been extremely pleased with my hair EVERY time I have had it done and that is probably every 2 months throughout the 15 years!  Heath trains everyone to give the same personal service he does and having read a couple of negative reports above I wonder whether the people actually made any comment at the time.  Every customer is actively listened too as I have sat amongst many of them on my visits.  Customer service is number one on the agenda at Feel!

Fantastic hairdressing, staff, customer service and great location!

I was looking to have a fairly big change to my hair as Im starting a new job in London in the summer and have had very boring and lifeless hair for a long time.  I was nervous as I wanted it about bob length and I've had some bad examples of that - either to heavily layered or blunt and mushrooming out all over the place.

 

So just over a week ago I booked in with Gavin who is the Director at Feel.  We chatted for a while about what I liked and didn't like.  It was so nice to be listened to for a change.  He even shampooed my hair himself - great massage too!! 

 

We  agreed on a bob thats quite textured and sliced into - perfect for my hair - no mushroom, no layers!   I've had compliments all week, even from total strangers.  Its the best haircut I've ever had and one of the better salon experiences.  Everyone in that place is really friendly.  I'll be back in a few weeks for some colour.  Go see Gavin and the team at Feel pronto!

I tried Feel yesterday for the first time having read so many great reviews on here and elsewhere. Good news is they were right! Cant say enough good things about this place. Really friendly staff, cool salon and best of all… great haircut at a fab price. Heath cut my hair. Lovely guy and great hairdresser. I will be back!

Had my hair cut here recently and sorry to say it was one of the worst haircuts of my life. The stylist was recommended to me by a friend, and he’s a nice guy, and I’m sure he’s skilled at cutting, but he didn’t listen to a word I said!!!
I explained I was growing my hair and growing out my fringe, so I wanted only a slight trim there and maybe some layers in the back to give it more volume. What I ended up with is a fringe that is shorter than it was when I went in and now thin and feathery. The sides are feathered too. And the back layers are so short it looks like a semi-mullet. I feel as if I’m in a Whitesnake video or something.
He also spent the majority of the time I was in the salon pushing me to buy products – from before he’d even washed my hair right up til I was walking out the door I was told I needed two expensive sprays, and told why I should have highlights. Maybe I should, but after what he did to my hair I’m not letting that dude anywhere near my hair with bleach!
Like another commenter, I also found it pretty rude to be told all the apparent ‘faults’ that my previous hairdresser made on my hair. My previous hairdresser is a senior stylist at one of the best salons in London, I’ve been going to see him for seven years and adore him – I only went elsewhere because my regular stylist is away for two months.
I know it’s only hair and that there are people with far worse problems in the world right now, but at the same time I was so upset about it. I’m ashamed to say when I got home I burst into tears… I’ve never felt so un-pretty after leaving a salon, and it will take a good six months to remedy.

I dropped into Feel today after reading the positive reviews here on Qype a few days ago and i’m extremely pleased I took a chance on a salon i’d never been to before. It was good value for money at £36 for a ladies cut and blowdry. Stelios was my stylist and he did a very good job, plus he’s a lovely guy and very attentive.

I would definitely recommend, i’ll be returning for my next cut.

I needed a haircut that would be really chic and transform my hairstyle. Nadia gave me exactly that. My hair style(cut+blowdry £41) is very different from what I had before and I love it. Its been a few days since the haircut and it still looks great.

I'll be honest. I'm a tough customer to please when it comes to getting my hair cut. I won't always vocalise when I'm unhappy because, well, what's the point, by the time it's been cut - the hair's gone already.

However, I can honestly say that I left Feel after my first appointment genuinely happy. My stylist was Stelios, and I was concerned at first as he spoke little English and I had specific request with my hair that I struggle getting even the most literate of stylists to understand, however Stelios got what I wanted - spot on.

I always take a photo in with me to hairdressers, and it never really comes out looking like the photo - but in this case I'm satisfied. Stelios has a good knowledge of colour and could see ways that my hair style could be improved to achieve the look I wanted.

One of my main criticisms with hairdressers is that I often leave with dye on my forehead or ears. Stelios was really attentive and said that he would never let anyone leave with dye on their skin as he wouldn't want to discourage people, especially men from using colour.

I would say that first impressions won't convince you that Feel is going to be a great experience, it has a basic layout, an almost non-existent waiting area and a quite temporary-looking Reception/Cashier desk - however, it almost adds to its charm as you begin to realise that those aesthetic elements aren't really as important as the care and customer service that your stylist provides and in this case I can't fault Stelios.

I think I've found my new hairdressers.

I had to choose a hairdresser to have my hair cut for the first time in London, so looked up in Qype for a place with good reviews that I could also afford! Feel was my final choice due to those very good reviews they had and I went yesterday morning for a cut & blowdry (£36). I was pleased that I didn't have to wait at all. Kristen was the stylist that cut and dried my hair and I must say that I couldn't be happier with the result. She understood perfectly what I wanted, despite my explanations weren't the best (as English is not my first language) and did exactly that.

I will be going back for sure, but probably on a weekday. For info: the don't offer the student discount on Saturdays but anyway, it was worth it :)

UPDATE (22/4/11): I've been to Feel two times more since my first visit. I got Stelios and Kristen, respectively, and both times were as good as the first one, so I'll keep going back for sure. I'm afraid that if I ever leave London and go back to Spain, I'll have to keep coming back to have my hair cut!

I have very fine hair, but lots of it and most salons insist on cutting layers into it to 'give it more volume'. Nadia is the first stylist who has ever told me to steer well clear of layers as my hair will end up limp and scruffy. Sure enough, 1 cut from Nadia (minus the layers, just with a few feathers!) and my hair was bouncy, shiny and full of life again. She cut my hair last Saturday afternoon and when I went out in the evening, 2 random people came up to me and told me how amazing my hair looked!! She's also great at giving you little tips - for example I have a cows lick in my fringe and she taught me different ways to blow dry it so that it's straightened out!

My first trip to Feel was about 3 years ago now and I've been getting my hair cut there ever since!. Before this, I spent a good few years going from salon to salon, and ending up with dreadful haircuts.

The whole Feel experience is also really pleasant - a warm welcome, a nice cup of tea, an incredible head massage and then a good haircut. For £38, you really can't go wrong!

After browsing Qype to find the perfect hairdresser in central London for an affordable price I've read the reviews on Feel and decided to try it out a few month ago.
I was very happy with my haircut! I really liked the place, the owners are very friendly, my hairdresser was really kind and a great hairdresser of course... I can't remember about the head massage that everybody's talking about in their reviews but they've offered me a drink!
It's in the heart of Soho and really good value, only 35£, for the area.
They have all you can look after to be happy about a hairdresser!

Feeling really disheartened about my thick, waist length hair, I went to Feel a couple of months ago after looking at reviews of dozens of places.

My experience was fantastic. I've never really done the whole salon experience before so I was pleasantly surprised to get an appointment the day I phoned up to book.

My stylist was Roberto, who upon explaining that I didn't really know what I wanted to do with my hair, or indeed whether I even still wanted the length, knew exactly what would suit me and even refused to cut my hair short (thank goodness!).

I was made to feel really special and months on my hair still looks great. I'll definitely be going back!

At Feel I experienced one of the most professional and enjoyable haircuts I think I ever have before. The staff were incredibly friendly and I was offered a cup of coffee as soon as I walked through the door. There was a constantly upbeat atmosphere in the salon that I've never felt while getting my haircut before.
My stylist was Kristen, and I will deffinitly be getting my hair cut by her again, she was teriffic. I hardly had to explain what I wanted and she got it spot on. Probably the best hair cut I have ever had.
Not only is the salon a great place to visit but it was terrifically good value, one of the cheapest high standard hair salons in London. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a decent haircut, at a friendly place, with great value and customer service.

I'd give it 6* if it was possible!!

This salon was recommended to me by a friend. I wasn't able to get Heath, as he wasn't taking on any new customers, but was assured that the other staff were all really good.
I have mid-length fine hair, but lots of it. I asked for the bottom layer to be thinned out, and the other layers to just be tidied up, as I get the dreaded mushroom effect of a heavy bottom layer. The stylist, however, continued to chop and thin out my hair all over, a long time after she had actually finished the cut. To make matters worse, this continuous thinning out and chopping into my hair wasn't done uniformly/evenly. The weight was taken out above the bottom layer, so I still have a mushroom, and the rest of the layers were thinned to within an inch of their lives, so now I have frizzy, whispy bits that were meant to remain pretty blunt ..and all this was done unevenly. Oh dear.
I also was not offered a drink when I arrived. I'm not sure whether this is normal practice, but I noticed that the person next to me had a drink, so assume they should be offered, as in most other salons.
In addition, they insisted on keeping the door open, this was at 7pm on a very very cold night. I was absolutely freezing and saw no logical reason for having to have the door open. Very bad customer service in this respect.
The good thing about this salon is the prices and, if the good reviews are to be believed, this is good value for what it is. Unfortunately, my experience was bad, but perhaps this is mostly the fault of the particular stylist. Also, the head massage was very good.

I visited Feel after doing some research online as I've had some shocking experiences in the past. I have naturally curly hair but finding a hairdresser who understands this and more importantly won't cost me the earth is next to impossible. Before booking I phoned and made clear what my requirements were and discussed the concerns I had due to previous experiences elsewhere. I was given honest advice over the phone and recommended a hairdresser who would best suit my needs. The appointment was great, I was immediately put at ease by Roberto, my hairdresser, and received a friendly professional service. Roberto listened to what I wanted and didn't go crazy with the scissors like so many hairdressers do with curly hair. I'm really pleased with my haircut and although I'm writing this review almost 2 months after visiting my hair still looks good and has grown into a great shape. I will definitely be going back to Feel and I recommend that you visit their website as it has a bio on all the hairdressers which is a nice touch and makes the experience more personal and intimate.
