Sumptuous, luxurious and fantastic. Although you’re staying in the lap of luxury, the owners and staff here are wonderfully down to earth and chilled. That said, there isn’t anything that’s too much trouble (they seem to know what you want before you do).

Not cheap (especially the wonderful suites) but stay in their cheapest room and you still get treated like royalty and have the use of all the facilities- pool, gym, terrace, hammam…

And you might just get upgraded - I did; lovely, lovely Jill).

Probably the prettiest opening of the past year, with probably one of the prettiest rooms anywhere. The Chameau Suite is, like the rest of this little nook in the loony-toony Medina, gorgeous without being precious. There’s a big canopied four-poster, a round sunken bath, two huge chairs the size of upturned elephants. This is a thoughtful, clever place – you’ll be given a mobile as you go out and the courtyard is sprinkled with water when the temperature soars.
