Had a meal in in April was the worst ribs i've ever had tough, dry and under cooked, not one of us ate our meal (2 adults 2 children) when plates were cleared we were asked what was wrong as so much food was left on the plates and were offered for it to be done again but we were all so put off by first attempt we said no and they still had the nerve to put gratuity on top og the bill!!!!

Decent place if you're craving for meat, or want to watch some American sports, which is usually on (unless there's a Chelsea game). Typical American-style BBQ/steak place. I've been there a couple of times, and each time the service is friendly and fast.
Foodwise, its quite standard, and I would consider a bit pricey for the quality you are getting. Don't get me wrong; its definitely tasty, but I wonder if it might be a bit too much to pay for what is meant to be hearty, sloppy meal. Portionwise, the mains are huge though.
The only gripe is that there's not much space inside, so the tables are a bit crammed together and if you're watching a game there while having a leisurely drink and meal, you might feel a bit jammed.

Bodeans has been a good friend to me over the years, but now I fear we've outgrown each other and now I've got my eye on a younger, classier model. It's not you Bodeans, it's me.... actually that's not true: it's you.
When you first came along you were so cool and new and tasty, but then you got a little staid, and you got a bit expensive, and it almost seemed like your portions got smaller, and well... there were other meaty treats to be had.
Hopefully we can still remain friends Bodeans, and maybe sometimes when I get a bit drunk we can revive that flame for just one night, but the magic's gone I'm afraid.

There is one reason to come to this Bodeans, it's to get a seat and a meal deal during the week. It is deck out like some kind of shrunken mini sized roadhouse in Texas, and the pokey atmosphere seems to make the meals seem even bigger. Love the pulled pork here, but never ventured much past it. Also found they can be sweetly accommodating if you ain't big on the fries, feeling less like a chain and more like a night int he American twilight zone of steakhouses!

I love this place, as the food is really tasty, from prawns to the delicious drawn pork with all sorts of hot sauces and ending with chocolate brownies with va va voom. The staff are especially welcoming and the service is fast.

Really great value offers and for so much food too. Staff excellent and I just love the meat. The only snag you can’t swap your chips for a salad without paying more money for it (how does that work!???) but all in all I love it…

Meat, lots of meat. That and sport, more to the point, American sport.
It’s a nice place to eat, but in my opinion just a posh version of Beefeater. Steaks are decent in size and cooked to youtr liking, sides are, well, just as you would imagine. They do have beef ribs on the menu which is different but everything to do with the setup / location / cost is not all that memorable.
Let’s put it this way, if Angus Steak house was 1, Bodeans would be 5…

Bodean’s is a great American Diner. On arrival to the restaurant we were given free starters, which was tortilla’s and salsa dip, which was really nice.
Then I ordered the buffalo burger with blue cheese. But as we all know, blue cheese has an acquired taste and i did not think it belonged in the burger and that gave it a horrible taste and smell. So my main was not all that great.
Anyway the staff at this branch were very helpful and quite efficent. As I was trying to eat this burger with an awful taste and smell, the waiter who was serving the table oppostie us had spilt 4 cups of drink accidently on the table and the people sitting there. The waiter was so embarrassed and apologetic. Im sure they were compensated for this minor mistake as they continued the evening with smiles and laughter.
Also on a friday it is always busy so you most likely wont recieve a table unless your early.

I Love Bodeans. And I love that this one is local even more!
Sundays’ £10 Rib feast is amazing value. You get a ‘man-sized’ full rack of 12 ribs; fries; coleslaw and a beer or soda. Make sure you bring a buddy and get them to help you with a few ribs, and make sure they order something else so you can give it a try too.
Perfect for pre-movie and post-movie eats. And very popular with visiting parents from all countries! A good place to go with a big group of family or friends.
This store wasn’t as becoming with offering fingerbowls and wipes. Plus the bill took ages to arrive and it wasn’t even busy when I was there. I guess the Clapham branch has raised the bar. But the staff still offered great recommendations and we were happy with that.
I give it five stars as it’s Bodeans, and it’s barbecue, and it always tastes delicious.

If you’re looking for that ultimate american eating experience, you need look no further than this chain of gorgeous diners.
With specialities of burnt ends and pulled pork, the food is so tasty you don’t know what to order. Yesterday I went for a Soho Special (5.95) which is a mixture of both marinated in barbecue sauce and served in a soft bun with chips. Oh my!
I think if you ate here everyday you’d be heading for a heart attack, but once in a while it’s a great alternative to the GBK, and with big-screen sport on the walls you can sit back, eat your succulent food, and relax.

How can restaurants carrying the same name be so different? Having tried the Soho Bodeans, I was excited to take my wife to the one in Fulham. What a different experience. Instead of the down home Atlanta ribs joint you get in Soho, this felt like a TGI Fridays or an Applebee's. i.e. uninspired and a bit tacky.
I ordered a steak, cooked medium, with a baked potato and a side of corn on the cob. My wife ordered the pulled pork sandwich. It's never a good sign when your baked potato is bigger than your steak. Granted it was a massive baked potato but it dwarfed my 12oz steak. Also my "medium" steak was anything but. Is there anything beyond well-done? If there is, that's what my steak was. Blech. The potato was good, as was the grilled corn. My wife said her pulled pork sandwich was good.
But this Bodean's just wasn't up to snuff compared to the Soho one. If you're looking for good bbq, definitely go to the one in Soho, you won't be disappointed.

Andrew Hunter, 5 March 2008: really interesting. You should try the Clapham flagship. That's the best.
