There were a few interesting beers here, more than normal for a Marston’s pub. Had a beer called El Torro from Muirhouse. Relatively new ownership is responsible for an improved in the beer I hear.
Judging by the canine count, this is a very dog friendly pub. The toilets are located through the conservatory area at the back, but I suspect Fido has to go outside!

This place has just reopened as a Marston’s managed house and the beer selection is excellent and well kept. Having said that the welcome was a little cold and with it’s position just away from the city centre this will need to improve.
I understand that although no food is available yet plans are in place to change this.

Carol behind the bar was lovely and the locals all very chatty. My mate had his first pickled egg there last saturday.
