2 reviews of Kori & Fay in English
The food tasted pretty good, but this Thai restaurant left something to be desired. I don't know if it was the fact that the place was closing, and we were the only people in there, but they served us cold sauce on both of our entrees (which weren't cheap, by the way). The papaya salad appetizer was delicious, and the servers were very nice. However, overall, I felt like this place was overrated, and I blame our lazy, selfish concierge for sending us there when we had chosen a superior restaurant on our own.
This Thai restaurant (not Japanese, as classified at the time of writing this review) offers an extensive menu, well-designed surroundings but slow service.
The food itself is excellent. We went for the mixed appetisers and the seafood mixed appetisers. The seafood was a particular success - grilled skewers of scallops, tuna, squid and prawns were all done to perfection.
I opted for a main dish of green curry with chicken, and while it couldn’t be faulted, it didn’t hit any particular heights. Disappointingly, the rice that was served appeared to be normal sticky rice, rather than the fragrant rice I’m used to getting. (Maybe that’s more authentic, I dunno.)
Unfortunately the service is a bit too slow for my liking, hence knocking down the rating a bit.
There’s a lovely ambience in the restaurant, and the fact that it was ticking over with a decent trade on a wet Monday night, compared to other restaurants on Kurfürstendamm, means it must be doing something right.
If you come here for a leisurely dinner, expecting a relaxed speed of service, you’ll definitely enjoy yourself.
