I have to admit I’m not a fan of Dona Tomas. It’s owned by the same people to own Tacubaya at the Fourth Street Shopping mall only Dona Tomas has more of a sit down restaurant feel but it has the same “yeah this food should be fresh especially for the price but it all tastes pre-packaged.” This is the place to go if you like “watered down Mexican food for white people or for people who don’t like Mexican food.” The drinks are pretty and pretty good but because I’m cheap I prefer to get drinks at the local (real) dive bars down the street.

Meh.
The atmosphere is nice - the walls are red, the lights are dim, and the room just FEELS so cozy!
The food was decent but completely unimpressive. I didn’t like the ceviche - too much onion and spices, too many chips, too little of what I actually wanted. The rest of the food was not memorable, as in, I actually don’t remember what I ate. I just remember that it was alright.
I wouldn’t come back here simply because I tend to get really excited about food, and there are many many other places with food that makes me wish I could eat more and more often. This is definitely not one of them.
