I’m not a fan of Mr. Smith’s.
It’s not awful, but it’s also not extremely fun by any stretch of the imagination. Every time I’ve been here, I found the place sort of irritating… I’m becoming fanatical about the flow of people and light through space, and the interior space of Mr. Smith’s is NOT layed out well - it alternates between too narrow to too wide, too open to too constricted. There is really no good flow through the three floors, as a matter of fact, there is NO FLOW. The stairs connects floor to floor are narrow escape routes that do NOTHING for actual movement. The light is odd too - around the bar, everything seems a bit too light, and downstairs feels like a dungeon.
