Has now become an asda walmart, with clothing, electrical, pharmacy, travel agent, mcdonalds and eye testing.
Is a very large store, but sometimes rude staff, is clean and tidy and often has everything in stock.

ASDA is a large supermarket chain that has many stores acroos the UK and the rest of the world. Some of the smaller stores are better but this one at spondon is massiv. There is benifits to this like it has a bigger range of things and you can get more a less everthing you need from there. However it means that it takes adges to get round and there is so many people in there it is sometimes hard to get to the products them self. As it is a large charin there is evan a Mcdonalds which is good after the trip rounf the supermarket and is good to treat the kids to if they go with you. The staff always seem like they want to do there best to help and are friendley. The toilet facilities in there are also good which is handy as you may find your self being in there for a while!! There is always great offers in there which makes the shopping better value for money and as the store is bigger there is a widder range to choose from.
Over all i think that this is a ok branch of ASDA but in my opinion it is to big.

the staff are not so customer orientated when they are talking to there colligues about jobs or general subjects, granted they are friendly!
Asda/Wal-mart at Spondon is based on the American hypermarket model and is huge. It is not a shop for the faint hearted!
There is a large car park but even so it is often busy and has a knack of attractin really tetchy drivers! There is also a carwash and petrol station on site.
One in the store itself it covers a lot of floor space but is roomy and surprisingly airy. It has a number of dedicated 'inner shops’ including a pharmacy, opticians, travel agents, dry cleaners.
On the main shop floor there is a large clothing section, electricals, toys, homewares, leisure items before heading into the grocery section where there are meat and fish counters.
As you would expect with a store this size the choice is immense and Asda always fares well in the price war with other supermarkets so it is possible to do a good bargain shop.
Thaty aside the sheer scale of the place can be off putting and it is a shop which is best to approach with a miltary style plan of action which you won’t be swayed from. If you plan to browse round the whole place you need stamina especially as it is usually busy and noisy. Even with a vast line of tills I often find myself queueing though if you haven’t much there is a self checkout system.
There is a MacDonalds and the customer toilets are well maintained though even though it is a 24Hour supermarket the toilets aren’t so you may need to cross your legs if you want a wee whilst shopping in the wee small hours.
It is the epitomy of the modern supermarket that has everything under one roof.

I think you ought to look at the prices again, expense and the staff absent mindedness to customers
Asda spondon has to be one of the worst supermarkets i have ever been to. It is a large supermarket, which has everything from food to clothes, and even a mcdonalds, you could get everything you every needed from here and keep the children happy by offering a mcdonalds at the end. The only issue is that it takes ages to get around, as it is packed full, and the food is behind all of the other items on offer, which can be difficult. If you want a normal shopping experience avoid asda spondon.

This Asda store is located on the outskirts of Derby.
This store is a very big store for Asda and has pretty much everything you could think of inside!! Asda are cheaper than most places now so I tend to do my shopping here.
They have often had some very good offers on clothing and George is very well known and is very cheap.
Their electrical section is very big and you can get TVs DvD players etc from this store as well as Games DvDs and Music CDs.
They even have a McDonalds here so you can treat the kids after a shop!!

I think you should take a closer look!! then you may change your mind!!!
Asda is located in Spondon which is relitavely easy to find your way to, providing you know Derby. I think its pretty safe to say that you can find everything under one roof, however this can play as a major disadvantage if you want to pop in for a quick shop as everything is spread out. There is a ‘George’ clothes section & a MacDonalds restuarant, as well as the obvious food isles.
I tend to do my Asda shopping online from this store as the shop is always busy & queues are long. However, it is a great store if you have time to look around & I recommend it for anyone who is fed up of stores with a limited range.

MUCH cheapness - although I think the car park is badly designed.

I’m affraid you are sorely mistaken about the prices it beggins cheap, but then when the product becomes popular they raise the price, So much for ASDA price!!
I think Asda is a must visit for any student in the area, althought it does mean that a car is needed, its situated outside the city really. The food is cheaper than most of the other supermarkets and is also good quality. They do good deals every week, and have fresh food daily to buy. Inside this Asda there is a Macdonalds, this is instead of a normal asda restaurant, i suppose in some ways this would be preferred as it is quick and easy and known. The clothes are also to a high standard, and has quite a large section, with a sale too. There is always a seasonal aisle, for example an aisle dedicated to halloween, where they have a range from trick or treat sweets to plates and crockery deisgned especially for halloween. This is a popular place to go shopping for accessibility and good value.

Asda is a brilliant place to shop, it has just about anything in there, from food to clothes to homeware. It has an instore, bakery, pharmacy, optitians and even a McDonalds, They aren’t skimpy on parking either. Fuel is also very cheap there as opposed to other places.

A very large Asda store with masses of parking. Sells clothing, homewares and has a very large electrical department. On the fresh food front you will find fruit and veg, cold meats/cheese, fish, hot chickens, freshly prepared pizza, chinese and indian dishes as well as an in store bakery. In addition thera is a pharmacy, opticians, dry cleaners, McDonalds and Fuel. In fact thinking about it why would you need to go anywhere else.
Easy access from the A52.
